Aircraft Loadmaster Resume Example & Writing Guide

Use this Aircraft Loadmaster resume example and guide to improve your career and write a powerful resume that will separate you from the competition.

Aircraft loadmasters are responsible for ensuring that the cargo holds of airplanes are loaded safely and securely. They work closely with pilots and flight crews to ensure that all cargo is stowed away in accordance with FAA regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.

Because cargo is often transported via air for the sake of convenience or cost savings, it’s essential that loadmasters ensure shipments arrive at their destination safely and on time. Cargo can include anything from food and clothing to electronics and machinery—along with some pretty heavy equipment like cars, boats, and even live animals.

Because of the variety of cargo that loadmasters handle on a regular basis, it’s important that they have an eye for detail and are able to follow directions carefully. They also need to possess excellent time management skills, as it’s common to have multiple shipments to load onto an airplane in a short amount of time.

Before you can start loading up airplanes full of cargo, however, you’ll need a compelling resume that will help you land a job as an aircraft loadmaster. Here are some tips and an example to help you write yours.

How to Write an Aircraft Loadmaster Resume

Here’s how to write an aircraft loadmaster resume of your own.

Write Compelling Bullet Points

The best way to make your resume stand out is to use strong, specific language. So rather than saying you “assisted with aircraft loading,” you could say you “assisted with the loading of a Boeing 737-800 aircraft in under 15 minutes, resulting in a record-breaking turnaround time of less than 15 minutes.”

The second bullet point is much more impressive because it provides specific details about what you did and the results of your work. And it also provides a quantifiable result (15 minutes).

Identify and Include Relevant Keywords

When you apply for an aircraft loadmaster role, your resume is likely to go through an applicant tracking system (ATS). This software will scan your resume for specific keywords related to the position, like “cargo loading” or “flight planning.” If your resume doesn’t have enough of the right terms, the ATS might automatically reject your application.

To increase your chances of getting an interview, use this list of common aircraft loadmaster keywords as a starting point:

  • Aircraft Loadmaster
  • Military
  • U.S. Department of Defense
  • Operational Planning
  • Military Operations
  • Operational Planning for Aviation
  • Military Training
  • Military Aviation
  • Force Protection
  • Flight Deck
  • U.S. Department of Defense DoD
  • Logistics Management
  • Helicopters
  • Defense
  • Operational Logistics
  • Command
  • Aviation
  • Aviation Safety
  • Defense Logistics Agency
  • Combat
  • Transportation
  • National Security
  • Cargo Handling
  • Supply Chain Management
  • Warehouse Operations
  • Supervisory Skills
  • Customer Service
  • Leadership
  • Strategic Planning
  • 5S

Showcase Your Technical Skills

As an aircraft loadmaster, you are responsible for the safety and security of the cargo and passengers on your aircraft. To do your job effectively, you need to be proficient in the use of various software programs and systems. These might include the aircraft’s weight and balance system, the cargo manifest system, and the passenger manifest system. You also need to be familiar with the aircraft’s loading and unloading procedures.
