How to Write an Analyst Resume

Here’s how to write an analyst resume of your own.

Write Compelling Bullet Points

Bullet points are the most important part of your resume because they’re the first thing recruiters and hiring managers will read. And if they’re not compelling, you’ll lose the opportunity to make a strong impression.

So rather than simply stating what you did in your role, you should use bullet points to describe the results of your work. For example, rather than saying you “analyzed data,” you could say you “analyzed data to identify opportunities for cost savings of $2 million annually.”

The second bullet point is much more powerful because it provides specific details about what you did and the outcome of your work.

Identify and Include Relevant Keywords

When you apply for a job as an analyst, your resume is usually entered into an applicant tracking system (ATS). This program scans your resume for certain keywords related to the job opening. If your resume doesn’t include enough of the right terms, the ATS might automatically reject your application.
