Adyson Castro: The biggest takeaway I got from my analytics program was the ability to think critically about data. I learned how to take a data set and break it down into smaller pieces to better understand what was happening. I also learned how to use different tools to make insights more visually appealing.

Adyson Castro: The most rewarding aspect of my career is being able to help businesses make data-driven decisions that improve their bottom line. The most challenging aspect of my career is dealing with data that is inaccurate or incomplete.
ClimbtheLadder: What misconception(s) do people have about an Analytics degree, and what would you tell them?
Adyson Castro: I think the biggest misconception about an analytics degree is that it is only for people who are good at math. Analytics is actually a very interdisciplinary field and you need to be good at both math and communication to be successful.
The ability to take data and communicate it in a way that is meaningful and actionable is actually more important than the ability to do the analysis itself. I would tell anyone considering an analytics degree to make sure they are comfortable with both math and communication before embarking on the journey.
