ClimbtheLadder: How did you make the most of your Broadcasting degree program so that it prepared you for post-graduation jobs?

Prince Sosa: I took advantage of my school’s radio station and TV station. I was on-air at the radio station for four years and I was a news anchor and reporter for the TV station for two years. I also interned at a local TV station my junior year. I think those experiences helped me get my first job after graduation.

ClimbtheLadder: What should students interested in Broadcasting be good at?

Prince Sosa: Students who are interested in broadcasting should be good at communicating and have a clear voice. They should also be interested in current events and be able to talk about them in an engaging way. Additionally, students should be comfortable with public speaking and be able to think on their feet.

ClimbtheLadder: What was the most challenging course you took? What advice would you give to students who are about to start this course?

Prince Sosa: The most challenging course I took was Radio Production. The course was challenging because it was very hands on. We had to produce our own radio show. The advice I would give to students is to be very organized and to start working on the project as soon as possible.
