What makes you the best candidate for this position?

Employers ask this question to learn more about your qualifications and why you are the best person for the job. Before your interview, make a list of all the skills and experiences that make you an ideal candidate. Focus on highlighting your most relevant experience and soft skills.

Example: “I am the best candidate for this position because I have extensive catering experience in both large-scale events and private parties. In my previous role as a catering manager, I managed a team of 20 employees and oversaw every aspect of event planning. This included menu creation, budgeting, vendor selection and hiring staff. My leadership skills and organizational abilities make me the perfect choice for this role.”

Which food service management certifications do you have?

Employers may ask this question to see if you have any industry certifications. If you do, they might want to know which ones you have and how they relate to the position. You can answer this question by listing your certifications and explaining what each one means.

Example: “I have two food service management certifications. The first is a Certified Caterer certification from the National Association of Catering Professionals. This certification shows that I am familiar with all aspects of catering, including menu planning, budgeting and event execution. What do you think is the most important aspect of customer service?

How often should food carts be restocked?
