How to Write a Chief Growth Officer Resume

Here’s how to write a resume of your own.

Write Compelling Bullet Points

When you’re writing bullet points, it can be tempting to focus on the tasks and responsibilities of your job. But if you want to stand out from other candidates, you need to go beyond that and focus on the results of your work.

For example, rather than saying you “managed sales team,” you could say that you “increased sales by 15% in first year through new account acquisition and upselling existing clients.”

The second bullet point is much stronger because it provides specific numbers and details about how you achieved those results.

Identify and Include Relevant Keywords

When you submit your resume online, it’s likely that it will be scanned by an applicant tracking system (ATS) for certain keywords. These programs look for certain terms related to the job opening in order to determine whether you have the skills and experience needed for the role. If your resume doesn’t include enough of the right keywords, your application might not make it past the initial screening process.

One way to make sure your resume contains the right keywords is to look at the job description and take note of the skills, experience, and qualities they are looking for. Then, use those same words throughout your resume. Here are some of the most commonly used keywords for chief growth officer roles:

  • Growth Strategies
  • Strategic Partnerships
  • Start-ups

Showcase Your Technical Skills

As a chief growth officer, you need to be proficient in a variety of software programs and systems in order to effectively do your job. This might include customer relationship management (CRM) software, marketing automation software, and data analysis tools. Additionally, you need to be able to use technology to communicate with other members of the team, including salespeople, marketers, and product managers.

Some of the programs and systems that chief growth officers are typically expected to be proficient in include: Salesforce, HubSpot, Marketo, Pardot, and Google Analytics.
