Write Compelling Bullet Points

Rather than simply listing your responsibilities, use the bullet points to tell a story about your work. For example, rather than saying you “negotiated leases for retail spaces,” you could say you “negotiated 10-year lease for new tenant in high-traffic shopping center, resulting in $1 million in annual revenue for landlord.”

The second bullet point is much stronger because it provides specific details about what you did, who you did it for, and the outcome of your work. It also includes a quantifiable result—$1 million in annual revenue—which makes it easy for the reader to understand the significance of your work.

Identify and Include Relevant Keywords

When you apply for a job as a commercial real estate broker, your resume will likely be scanned by an applicant tracking system (ATS) for certain keywords.
