How to Write a Concrete Foreman Resume

Here’s how to write a concrete foreman resume of your own.

Write Compelling Bullet Points

The best bullet points are the ones that are specific and descriptive. Rather than saying you “managed crew,” you could say you “managed crew of 15 workers to complete concrete flooring project on schedule, resulting in zero safety incidents and on-time delivery of project.”

The second bullet point is much stronger because it provides specific details about the project, the number of workers involved, and the outcome of the project.

Identify and Include Relevant Keywords

When you submit your resume online, it’s likely that it will be scanned by an applicant tracking system (ATS) for certain keywords. These programs look for certain terms related to the job opening in order to determine whether your skills and experience are a match for the job. If you don’t have the right keywords on your resume, the ATS might discard your application before a human ever sees it.

The best way to make sure you include the right keywords on your resume is to read through a few job postings and take note of the terms that are used most frequently. Then, try to use those same terms throughout your resume. Here are some of the most commonly used keywords for concrete foreman positions:

  • Concrete
  • Construction

  • Concrete Pouring

Showcase Your Technical Skills

As a concrete foreman, you will need to be proficient in the use of various software programs and systems in order to effectively manage your crew and complete your work. Some of the most commonly used programs in the construction industry are Procore, Bluebeam, and AutoCAD. Additionally, you will need to be familiar with construction-specific software programs, like Primavera and Microsoft Project.
