2. Are you comfortable working independently?

4. How would you deal with an angry customer?

This question can help interviewers assess your customer service skills. They want to know how you would handle a challenging situation and if you have the ability to diffuse it. In your answer, demonstrate that you are empathetic and willing to do whatever it takes to make the customer happy.

Example: “I once had a customer who was upset because they didn’t receive their order on time. I apologized for the inconvenience and offered them a discount on their next purchase. If I ever encountered an angry customer again, I would try to resolve the issue as quickly as possible by offering solutions or discounts.”

5. Provide an example of when you had to communicate effectively with customers or co-workers.

However, they also wanted us to include some additional information in the ads that wasn’t originally planned. I had to communicate with my team members to ensure everyone understood what was needed and when it should be completed by.”

6. Why do you want to work at CROSSMARK?

7. Do you have reliable transportation?

Example: “I believe that establishing a relationship with my clients and potential customers is important because it allows me to understand their needs and provide them with valuable information about products and services. I would start by asking questions to learn more about their current situation and what they hope to achieve. Then, I would use this information to recommend products or services that could help them reach their goals.”

9. What are some of the qualities you look for when evaluating a product?

This question can help the interviewer determine if you have the necessary skills and experience to succeed in this role. Use your answer to highlight your critical thinking, problem-solving and communication skills.

Example: “I look at a product’s packaging first because it is one of the most important factors when determining its success. I also consider how well the product performs as advertised and whether or not it has any customer reviews. 10. Tell us about a time when you had to meet a goal that you were not sure was achievable. How did you overcome this challenge?

After sending out several messages, I received many responses from people willing to speak with me. By using these methods, I was able to reach my goal every week.”

11. Describe a time when you had to resolve a conflict between yourself and a fellow employee.

This question can help interviewers understand how you resolve conflict and your ability to work with others. Use examples from previous jobs or describe a time when you helped someone else resolve a conflict.

Example: “In my last position, I had an issue with one of my coworkers who was constantly late for our meetings. At first, I tried to be understanding because I knew she had some personal issues going on in her life. However, after several weeks, it became apparent that she wasn’t going to change her behavior. I spoke with her about the situation and told her that if she didn’t improve her punctuality within two weeks, I would have to let her go.” She understood and improved her punctuality. In this case, I used empathy to try to resolve the conflict before escalating the problem.”

12. Give an example of when you had to be flexible on the job.

Employers ask this question to see how you adapt to change. They want to know that you can be flexible and still get the job done. When answering, think of a time when your employer changed something in your schedule or expectations. Explain what steps you took to adjust to these changes.

Example: “When I worked at my previous company, we had a client who was unhappy with our services. The marketing team decided to send me to their location to speak with them about their concerns. At first, I was disappointed because I wanted to attend an out-of-state conference. However, I understood that it was important for us to make sure all of our clients were happy. So, I went to meet with the client and learned more about their business. In the end, they were satisfied with our services.”

13. What is your experience with demonstrating products or services?

This question is an opportunity to show your experience with customer service and sales. You can describe a time when you helped customers find the right products or services for their needs, or how you used your product knowledge to help clients make informed decisions about their purchases.

Example: “I have worked in several different retail environments where I had to demonstrate products to customers. In my last role as a sales associate at a home improvement store, I was responsible for helping customers understand our selection of power tools and which ones would be best suited for their projects. I found that by asking questions about what they were working on, I could better determine which tool would work best for them.”

14. Our company values punctuality, can you tell me about a time where you were late to something?

Employers ask this question to see if you have any experience with being late. They want to know that you understand the importance of punctuality and how it can affect your work performance. When answering, try to explain what steps you took to ensure you would be on time in the future.

Example: “I was once running a bit behind schedule for an appointment I had with a client. I called my manager at the time to let them know about the situation and asked if they could stall the meeting until I arrived. Luckily, they were able to do so, and I made it there just as the meeting started.”

15. We often have to lift up to 50 pounds. Would you be able to handle that?

17. It’s important that our employees follow directions well. Can you tell me about a time when you struggled with following instructions?

Example: “When I first started working at my previous company, I was asked to send out a large batch of emails to clients. I also created a list of relevant blogs and websites where she could submit guest posts to improve her rankings.”

19. How would you help someone make a purchasing decision?

This question can help the interviewer assess your customer service skills and ability to guide customers through a purchasing process. Use examples from previous experiences where you helped someone make a decision about what product or service to purchase.

Example: “I would first ask them what they’re looking for in a product, then I’d offer suggestions based on their needs. If they’re unsure of which brand to choose, I’ll explain the differences between brands so they can decide which one is best for them. Once they’ve decided on a specific product, I’ll show them how it works and answer any questions they have before they leave.”
