How to Write a Director Of Revenue Resume

Here’s how to write a resume of your own.

Write Compelling Bullet Points

When you’re writing your bullet points, it can be tempting to just list your responsibilities. But that’s not going to make a strong impression on recruiters. Instead, you should focus on the results of your work.

For example, rather than saying you “managed sales team,” you could say that you “increased sales by 15% in first year through new account acquisition and upselling existing clients.”

The second bullet point is much stronger because it provides specific numbers and details about how you achieved those results.

Identify and Include Relevant Keywords

The director of revenue is usually the first person that an applicant will interact with when applying for a job. The director of revenue will likely be scanning your resume for certain keywords related to the job opening. If your resume doesn’t include enough of the right keywords, your application might not make it past the initial screening process.

One way to make sure your resume contains the right keywords is to read through the job posting and take note of the terms that are used most frequently. Then, try to use those same words in your resume. You can also use this list of commonly used director of revenue keywords as a starting point:

Showcase Your Technical Skills

As the Director of Revenue, you will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the company. In order to do this effectively, you will need to be proficient in the use of financial software programs, such as QuickBooks, Sage, and Microsoft Dynamics. You will also need to have a solid understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.

In addition to your financial skills, you will also need to be proficient in the use of project management software, such as Microsoft Project and Asana. This will allow you to effectively manage the various revenue-generating projects that you will be responsible for.
