What are some of the challenges you face as an EDI specialist?

This question can help the interviewer gain insight into your problem-solving skills and how you handle challenges. Your answer should highlight your ability to overcome obstacles, adapt to change and use critical thinking skills.

Example: “One of the biggest challenges I face as an EDI specialist is ensuring that all documents are formatted correctly before they’re sent to trading partners. If there’s a mistake in any field or element, it could cause issues with communication between companies. To avoid this, I always triple-check my work for accuracy and format each document multiple times before sending it out.”

How do you ensure that your data is secure?

EDI involves the transfer of sensitive information, so it’s important that you have a plan for keeping data secure. Your answer should show that you understand how to protect confidential information and ensure compliance with industry standards.

Example: “EDI is an effective way to exchange business documents between companies, but it also means that there are more opportunities for hackers to access your company’s data. How well do you perform under pressure?

Example: “I have the most experience using SAP, Oracle and Microsoft Dynamics GP. I enjoy working with SAP because it’s a comprehensive program that allows me to manage all aspects of an organization’s finances. What do you think is the most important aspect of this job?
