8. Do you have any experience with financial advising or software development for finance?

This question is a great way for the interviewer to learn more about your background and how it relates to this role. If you have experience in either of these areas, be sure to share that information with the interviewer.

Example: “I do not have any formal financial advising or software development experience, however I am very familiar with the process of creating software applications. 9. Which programming languages are you familiar with and which is your favorite?

10. How would you approach searching for the source code for a bug?

11. Can you tell me about a time when you faced a major challenge on a project?

Example: “In my last role as an eMoney advisor, I had a client who was looking for ways to invest their money in order to make sure they could cover all of their expenses while still saving enough to retire comfortably. The client wanted to know if there were any other options that would allow them to save even more money. I researched different investment strategies and found one that would be beneficial for the client.”

12. Have you ever worked remotely before?

Working remotely is a common practice for many financial advisors. The interviewer may ask this question to learn more about your experience with remote work and how you feel about it. If you have worked remotely before, share some of the challenges you faced and how you overcame them. If you haven’t worked remotely before, explain why you’re excited to do so.

Example: “I’ve never worked remotely before, but I’m very excited to try it out. I think that having the freedom to work from home will help me be more productive and efficient at my job. I also think that working remotely will allow me to spend more time with my family.”

13. What kind of system testing skills do you have and what’s your process?

The interviewer may ask this question to learn more about your technical skills and how you apply them in a work environment. Use examples from previous experience that show your ability to test software, identify bugs or errors and implement solutions.

Example: “In my last role as an eMoney advisor specialist, I was responsible for testing the system before it went live. I used several different methods of testing, including user acceptance testing, functional testing and regression testing. User acceptance testing involved having financial advisors use the system while I observed their actions and recorded any issues they encountered. Functional testing involved using automated tools to check for bugs or errors within the system’s coding. Regression testing helped me ensure that new updates didn’t cause problems with existing features.”

14. Tell us about a time where you were able to improve a customer’s experience because they were having trouble.

This question is a great way to show your customer service skills and how you can help clients. When answering this question, it’s important to focus on the positive outcome of helping the client.

Example: “I once had a client who was having trouble with their password. They were trying to log in but couldn’t remember what they set it as. 16. What unique qualities do you think you could bring to our company culture?

When answering this question, it can be helpful to mention something specific from the job description or something you learned during your research that you think would fit well with your skills and personality.

Example: “I noticed in your job listing that you’re looking for someone who has strong communication skills. I feel like my ability to communicate clearly and effectively is one of my greatest strengths as an employee. In my last role, I was able to help clients understand complex financial concepts by using analogies they could relate to.”

17. What tools do you use to keep up with industry trends in technology?
