We also discussed new ideas for improving our prototypes and brainstormed ways to implement them.”

What are some of the most important skills you have that make you a good flight test engineer?

The interviewer may ask you a question like this to assess your communication skills and how well you can work with others. Use examples from past experiences where you had to communicate important information to pilots or crew members, such as during pre-flight checks or in the cockpit.

Example: “I think my communication skills are one of my strongest abilities. In my last position, I was responsible for communicating flight plans to pilots before takeoff. During these briefings, I would explain any changes to the plan and relay instructions on what they should expect during the flight. Do you have experience using computer-aided design software to create prototypes?
