Bullet points are the most common way to showcase your experience on a resume, but they don’t have to be boring or generic. In fact, the more specific and detailed you can be, the better.
For example, rather than saying you “managed gym staff,” you could say that you “managed 15+ staff members to achieve highest customer satisfaction ratings in company history by implementing new training programs, improving communication between departments, and creating new scheduling system.”
The second bullet point is much more interesting and provides a lot more detail about what exactly you did and the results of your work.
When you submit your resume online, it’s likely that it will be scanned by an applicant tracking system (ATS) for certain keywords. These programs look for certain terms related to the job opening in order to determine whether or not you’re a good fit. If your resume doesn’t include enough of the right keywords, the ATS might automatically reject your application.
