HCSS Interview Process

1. What is your experience with SQL? Do you have any certifications?

2. How do you stay up to date on the latest software development practices?

The interviewer may ask this question to see if you have a passion for technology and staying up-to-date on the latest developments in your field. Your answer should show that you are passionate about learning new things, but also that you can apply what you learn to your work.

Example: “I am always looking for ways to improve my skills as a developer. I subscribe to several online newsletters and blogs where developers discuss their projects and share tips and tricks they’ve learned along the way. I also attend webinars hosted by software companies and other professionals who offer advice on how to use their products.”

3. Tell me about a time when a customer was not satisfied, how did you handle it?

An interviewer may ask this question to learn more about your customer service skills. They want to know how you handle conflict and if you have the ability to resolve it quickly.

Example: “I once had a client who was unhappy with our software because they said it wasn’t user-friendly enough for their employees. 4. Have you ever been in a leadership position and if so what was an obstacle that you had to overcome to be successful.

5. Explain some of the tools used for debugging code.

If you haven’t worked as a developer but are familiar with debugging, describe how you would use these tools.

6. Would you be able to write a program without using outside resources?

This question is a test of your programming skills. It’s important to show the interviewer that you have the ability to write code without having to look up how to do it online.

7. If a developer asked you to add a specific feature to our product, would you ask them why they need this or just go ahead and implement it?

8. Can you tell me about a time where you led a team to success?

17. Please describe your coding experience and preferred language/platforms.
