How to Write a Holistic Health Coach Resume

Here’s how to write a resume of your own.

Write Compelling Bullet Points

Rather than simply listing your responsibilities, take the opportunity to showcase your work by describing specific results you’ve achieved. For example, rather than saying you “provided nutritional counseling to clients,” you could say you “provided nutritional counseling to clients, resulting in a 10% decrease in body fat and a 5-pound weight loss over six-month period.”

This level of detail will help hiring managers understand not only what you did but also how well you did it. And that can make all the difference when it comes time for them to decide who to interview.

Identify and Include Relevant Keywords

When you apply for a holistic health coach role, your resume is likely to be scanned by an applicant tracking system (ATS) for certain keywords. This system will look for terms related to the job, like “wellness” or “nutrition” in order to determine whether your skills and experience are a match for the job. If your resume doesn’t include enough relevant keywords, your application might not make it past the initial screening process.

To make sure your resume makes it past the ATS, focus on including relevant keywords throughout all sections of your application. Here are some of the most commonly used holistic health coach keywords:

You should also be familiar with health and wellness-related software programs, like MyFitnessPal and Fitbit. Additionally, it’s important to be familiar with various health and wellness concepts, like nutrition, exercise, and stress management.
