Write Compelling Bullet Points

Bullet points are the most important part of your resume because they’re the first thing recruiters will read. And since they’re so important, it’s crucial that you use them to your advantage.

The best way to do that is to use them to describe your experience and qualifications. So rather than saying you “provided care for elderly patients,” you could say you “provided care for elderly patients in their homes, providing assistance with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and meal preparation.”

The second bullet point is much more specific and tells the reader exactly what you did. And that specificity will help the reader understand how well-suited you are for the job.

Identify and Include Relevant Keywords

When you apply for a home care worker job, your resume goes into an applicant tracking system (ATS) where it’s scanned for certain keywords. If your resume doesn’t have enough of the right keywords, your application might not make it to a recruiter.
