Bullet points are the most effective way to showcase your experience and qualifications. But rather than simply listing your responsibilities, you can make your bullet points much more interesting and compelling by using specific numbers and statistics.

For example, rather than saying you “cleaned house,” you could say you “cleaned house, washed dishes, and vacuumed living room, dining room, and kitchen, taking care to dust baseboards and clean behind furniture.”

The second bullet point is much more specific and provides more detail about what exactly you did. And it also includes a quantifiable detail about how long it took you to complete the task.

Identify and Include Relevant Keywords

When you submit your resume for a house sitter position, it’s likely that it will be scanned by an applicant tracking system (ATS) for certain keywords. ATS programs look for specific terms related to the job like “pet care” or “housekeeping” in order to determine whether or not your skills and experience are a match for the position.
