Write Compelling Bullet Points

Rather than simply listing your responsibilities, you can use bullet points to highlight specific examples of how you contributed to the company’s bottom line. For example, rather than saying you “cleaned hotel rooms,” you could say you “increased cleaning efficiency by 15% by developing new cleaning protocols and training new hires.”

The second bullet point is much stronger because it provides specific numbers that demonstrate your impact on the company. And it also provides context by mentioning that you developed new protocols and trained new hires—both of which are relevant details that help paint a clearer picture of your role.

Identify and Include Relevant Keywords

Most housekeeping resumes are scanned by an applicant tracking system (ATS) for certain keywords. ATS programs rank resumes based on the number of relevant keywords that are found in each resume.
