Housemen or housemen are the workhorses of hospitals. Housemen are also on the front lines of patient care, checking in on patients, following up with doctors and nurses about their care plans, and helping out with whatever needs tending to.

If you’re interested in making a career out of housekeeping or just want a new job that will allow you to work with patients directly, here are some tips and a resume example to help you write a houseman resume that hiring managers will love.

How to Write a Houseman Resume

Here’s how to write a resume of your own.

Write Compelling Bullet Points

Bullet points are the most effective way to showcase your experience and qualifications. But rather than simply listing your responsibilities, you can make your bullet points much more interesting and compelling by using specific numbers and statistics.

For example, rather than saying you “managed housekeeping staff,” you could say that you “managed housekeeping staff of 15+ employees to maintain cleanliness of 20+ hotel rooms per day, resulting in 98%+ customer satisfaction rating.”

The second bullet point is much more specific and provides a clear picture of what exactly you did and the results of your work.

Identify and Include Relevant Keywords

When you apply for a houseman role, your resume is likely to be scanned by an applicant tracking system (ATS) for certain keywords. This system looks for keywords related to the job, like “housekeeping” or “cleaning.” If your resume doesn’t have enough of the right terms, your application might not make it past the initial screening.

To increase your chances of getting an interview, make sure to include relevant keywords throughout all the sections of your resume. You can find a list of common houseman keywords below:

  • Entertainment
  • Film
  • Video Production
  • Video Editing
  • Final Cut Pro

  • Movie Making

  • Stage Management
  • Television

Showcase Your Technical Skills

As a houseman, you will be responsible for a wide range of tasks, from cleaning and maintenance to customer service. To be successful in this role, you will need to be proficient in the use of a variety of software programs and systems. For instance, you will need to be able to use cleaning and maintenance software to schedule and track your work. You will also need to be familiar with customer service software, such as reservation systems, in order to effectively assist guests.
