How to Write an IT Support Resume

Here’s how to write an IT support resume of your own.

Write Compelling Bullet Points

Bullet points are the most effective way to showcase your experience and qualifications. But rather than simply listing your responsibilities, you can make your resume more interesting by using bullet points to describe the results of your work.

For example, rather than saying you “provided IT support for 50 users,” you could say you “provided IT support for 50 users, resulting in a 95% uptime rate, the highest in the company.”

The second bullet point paints a clear picture of what the project entailed and how you contributed to the company’s success. And it provides a quantifiable result—a 95% uptime rate—that makes it clear how significant your contribution was.

Identify and Include Relevant Keywords

Keywords are an essential part of your resume, especially if you’re applying online. The recruiter will use the keywords to help determine whether you’re a good fit for the job. If your resume doesn’t have enough of the right keywords, it might not make it past the applicant tracking system (ATS).
