How to Write a Kitchen Staff Resume

Here’s how to write a kitchen staff resume of your own.

Write Compelling Bullet Points

Bullet points are the most important part of your resume because they’re the first thing recruiters and hiring managers will read. And they’re the best way to showcase your experience and qualifications.

But many job seekers make the mistake of using generic bullet points that don’t really tell a story or provide any context. For example, rather than saying you “assisted in food preparation,” you could say you “assisted executive chef in daily food preparation for 200+ guests, including lunch and dinner service five days per week.”

The second bullet point provides more detail about what exactly you did and the scope of your responsibilities. It also provides a number to help quantify your experience.

Identify and Include Relevant Keywords

When you submit your resume online, it’s likely that it will be scanned by an applicant tracking system (ATS) for certain keywords. These programs look for specific terms related to the job opening in order to determine whether or not you are a good fit. If your resume doesn’t include enough of the right keywords, the ATS might discard your application.
