How to Write a Kitchen Steward Resume

Here’s how to write a kitchen steward resume of your own.

Write Compelling Bullet Points

Bullet points are the most effective way to showcase your experience and qualifications. But rather than simply listing your responsibilities, you can make your bullet points much more interesting and compelling by using specific numbers and metrics.

For example, rather than saying you “managed inventory for large catering events,” you could say that you “managed inventory for 10+ events with 200+ guests, resulting in zero food waste and no complaints from guests.”

The second bullet point is much more specific and provides a clear picture of what exactly you did and the results of your work.

Identify and Include Relevant Keywords

When you submit your resume for a kitchen steward role, it’s likely that it will be scanned by an applicant tracking system (ATS) for certain keywords. ATS programs look for certain terms related to the job, like “food safety” or “cooking” in order to determine whether your experience is a match for the job. If your resume doesn’t include enough of the right keywords, the ATS might filter out your application.

Kitchen stewards use a variety of technology in their work, from dishwashing machines to cleaning chemicals.
