Common KnowBe4 Interview Questions

1. What is your experience in sales?

This question can help the interviewer determine your experience in a sales role and how you might fit into their organization. If you have previous experience in a sales position, describe what your responsibilities were and how they helped you develop skills that are transferable to this role.

Example: “In my last position as an account manager for a software company, I was responsible for selling our products to businesses within a 50-mile radius of our headquarters. My primary responsibility was to identify potential clients and reach out to them about our services. Once we had established contact with a client, I would present our product and answer any questions they had. After the presentation, I would offer a free trial period so the business could test our product before making a purchase.”

2. How do you think social media can be used to help sell a product or service?

Social media is a popular way to reach customers, and employers want to know that you can use social media effectively. In your answer, explain how you would use social media to help sell a product or service. You can also mention any specific skills you have for using social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

Example: “I think social media is an excellent tool for selling products and services because it allows me to connect with potential clients in a more personal way. I’ve used social media to promote my previous employer’s security awareness training program by sharing posts on relevant news stories and creating content that was interesting and informative. This helped us gain new followers who were interested in learning about cyber security.”

3. Describe your customer service style.

This question is an opportunity to show your interviewer that you have excellent customer service skills. When answering this question, it can be helpful to describe a time when you helped a customer solve their problem and how you did so.

Example: “I believe in treating customers the way I would want to be treated if I were in their situation. In my last role as a help desk technician, I had a customer who was having trouble with their computer’s operating system. Instead of trying to fix the issue myself, I asked the customer what they wanted to do on their computer and then walked them through the steps to complete those tasks. This allowed me to better understand the issue and find a solution.”

4. Tell me about a time where you had an upset customer, how did you handle the situation?

This question is a great way to show your problem-solving skills and how you can handle difficult situations. When answering this question, it’s important to focus on the steps you took to resolve the situation and highlight any unique or creative solutions you came up with.

Example: “I had an upset customer once who was having issues with their website. They were frustrated because they couldn’t get the site to load properly. I asked them what browser they were using and if they tried switching browsers. After that, I asked them if they updated their software. Once we ruled out those two things, I told them I would try to fix the issue for them.

After looking at the website code, I noticed there was a coding error. I contacted my developer and explained the issue. He fixed the coding error within 24 hours.”

5. We are looking for someone who is comfortable with change and new challenges. Are you flexible enough to work in an environment like that?

This question is a great way to determine how flexible the candidate is and whether they will be able to adapt to change. It also helps you understand their comfort level with new challenges, which can help you decide if they are right for your company.

Example: “I am very comfortable working in an environment where change happens often. I enjoy being challenged by new projects and tasks that require me to learn something new. In my last position, I was tasked with creating a new training program for our sales team. The company wanted to implement a new sales strategy, so I had to create a training program that would teach employees about the new strategy while still maintaining the old one.”

6. Do you have any technical troubleshooting experience?

This question can help the interviewer determine if you have experience with common technical issues that may arise in your role. Consider mentioning any troubleshooting skills you have and how they helped you resolve a problem or issue.

Example: “I’ve had to troubleshoot several issues while working as an IT professional, including password problems, software installation issues and connectivity issues. I always try to find the root cause of the problem first before trying to solve it. In my last position, I was able to identify a firewall issue that was preventing users from accessing certain websites. After making some adjustments to the firewall settings, I was able to fix the issue.”

7. If hired, what would you do differently than other employees when providing support to customers?

This question is an opportunity to show your unique skills and talents. It’s a chance to demonstrate how you can add value to the company by improving processes or developing new ones.

Example: “I would make sure that I always have all of the information needed for customers before they call in. This means researching their issue, checking with my team members who may be able to help and ensuring we have all relevant documentation available when speaking with them. By doing this, I can ensure our customer service representatives are spending less time on hold and more time helping customers.”

8. In today’s digital age, knowing how to use technology is vital. How familiar are you with using technology at home and in the workplace?

This question is an opportunity to show the interviewer that you’re comfortable using technology and can adapt to new programs quickly. If you’ve used a specific program before, share your experience with it.

In my previous role as a customer service representative, I had to learn how to use our company’s help desk software, which was quite easy since I already knew how to use Microsoft Office.”

9. Have you worked in a team environment before, if so, how well did you fit in?

This question is a great way to see how well you fit in with others and your ability to work as part of a team. When answering this question, it can be helpful to mention any specific skills or qualities that helped you fit in well with the group.

Example: “I have worked in a team environment before, however, I was usually the leader of the group. My coworkers were all very talented individuals who had different skill sets than me. This allowed us to cover more ground when solving problems together. I also found that my leadership style complemented theirs quite well, which made for an effective working relationship.”

10. Can you tell us about a time when you were working on a project and it was not going as planned, how did you approach the issue?

This question is a great way to see how you handle challenges and setbacks. It’s important to show that you can take constructive criticism, learn from your mistakes and apply what you’ve learned to future projects.

Example: “I was working on a project for a client who wanted us to create an online training program for their employees. I had already created the outline of the course when my manager told me they needed it completed in two weeks instead of three. I immediately got to work with my team to figure out how we could complete the project in time. We decided to stay late every night until it was done.”

I have been teaching others about cyber threats for several years now, and I feel like I would thrive in this role. Example: “Cyber security is an ever-changing field with new threats emerging all the time. I’ve been working as a cyber security specialist for five years now, so I’m familiar with many different types of attacks. For example, phishing is when hackers send emails or messages that appear legitimate but are actually designed to steal information from users. Another common attack is ransomware, which locks computers until the user pays a ransom.”

This question is a great way to show your knowledge of the industry and how you can apply it. When answering this question, make sure to include specific details about what you think will be the biggest threat in the future and why.

Example: “I believe that the biggest cybersecurity threat 10 years from now will be cyberwarfare. As more countries develop their own cyber capabilities, I expect we’ll see more attacks on other nations’ infrastructure. This could lead to serious issues for many people around the world. In my role as a security analyst, I would work hard to find ways to prevent these types of attacks.”

16. What are some strategies you would implement to improve our current state of security?

This question is a great way to show your knowledge of the current state of security and how you would improve it. This strategy has worked well at my previous job because it’s easy to access and provides valuable information that employees can use throughout their workday.”

17. What is one thing you would change about our website?

Example: “I think one thing I would change about the website is the navigation bar at the top of each page. If I were designing the website, I would remove some of the less-used links and replace them with more relevant content.”

Example: “I’ve presented at several conferences over the past few years. I find that it’s important to be passionate about my topic and to connect with the audience.
