Before your interview, read through the job description to see if the employer mentions which software they use. If they don’t mention it, ask them about it during your interview. In either case, be prepared to answer this question with a yes or no answer and briefly explain why you are qualified to use that software.

Example: “I do have experience using laser cutting software. I worked at my previous job as a laser technician for two years before moving here. Our company used the same software as yours, so I am familiar with how to use it.”

When performing maintenance on a laser system, what is the first step you take?

This question is an opportunity to show your interviewer that you know how to perform maintenance on a laser system. Use examples from previous experience in which you followed proper procedures for maintaining a laser system and the steps involved.

Example: “The first step I take when performing maintenance on a laser system is to make sure all safety precautions are taken. Which laser systems have you worked with in the past?

This question can help the interviewer determine your experience level and whether you have any relevant skills for this position. If you don’t have direct experience with the laser system used by the company, consider mentioning a similar system that you’ve worked with in the past.
