How to Write a NOC Manager Resume

Here’s how to write a noc manager resume of your own.

Write Compelling Bullet Points

Bullet points are the most important part of your resume because they’re the first thing recruiters and hiring managers will read. And they’re the best way to showcase your experience and qualifications.

But many job seekers make the mistake of using generic bullet points that don’t really tell a story or provide any context about their experience.

Instead, you should use your bullet points to tell a story about your experience. And that story should be as specific as possible. So rather than saying you “managed employees,” you could say you “managed 15+ employees to achieve departmental goals, resulting in a 15% increase in productivity over six-month period.”

The second bullet point is much more specific and provides more detail about what you did and the results of your work.

Identify and Include Relevant Keywords

Keywords are especially important when you’re applying for a job online. Most companies use an applicant tracking system (ATS) to screen resumes. This system looks for certain terms related to the job opening. If your resume doesn’t include enough of the right keywords, the ATS might automatically reject your application.

To make sure your resume makes it past the ATS, focus on including relevant keywords throughout all sections of your application. Here are some common NOC manager keywords to get you started:

  • Network Operations Center (NOC)
  • IT Management
  • Networking
  • Troubleshooting
  • Change Management
  • Windows Server
  • Information Technology
  • Systems Administration
  • Technical Support
  • ITIL
  • Microsoft SQL Server
  • IT Service Management
  • Vendor Management
  • Network Administration
  • Windows
  • SQL
  • Virtualization
  • Infrastructure
  • Active Directory
  • IT Operations
  • IT Strategy
  • Telecommunications
  • Disaster Recovery
  • IT Outsourcing
  • IT Security
  • IT Management Consulting
  • Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
  • ITIL Certified
  • Performance Management
  • Linux

Showcase Your Technical Skills

As a NOC manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the network operations center and ensuring that it runs smoothly. To do this, you will need to be proficient in a variety of software programs and systems. Some of the most commonly used programs in the NOC are SolarWinds, Nagios, and Cacti. You will also need to be familiar with network protocols and how they work.
