How to Write an NPI Program Manager Resume

Here’s how to write an resume of your own.

Write Compelling Bullet Points

The best bullet points are specific and descriptive. They should include details about what you did, how you did it, and the results of your work.

For example, rather than saying you “managed program budget,” you could say that you “managed $10M program budget to ensure on-time and on-budget delivery of new software system, resulting in zero budget overruns and zero delays in delivery schedule.”

Notice how the second bullet point is more specific and provides more detail about what exactly you did and the results of your work.

Identify and Include Relevant Keywords

When you apply for a NPI program manager role, your resume will likely be scanned by an applicant tracking system (ATS) for certain keywords. ATS programs rank resumes based on the degree of overlap between the applicant’s work history and the job requirements.

Because NPI program managers are responsible for managing donor relationships, their resumes are likely to include keywords like “fundraising” and “donor retention.” But you can also emphasize your relevant skills and experience by including keywords like “database” and “fundraising software.”

The most commonly used keywords for NPI program manager roles are:

  • NPI
  • Program Management
  • Project Management
  • Change Management
  • Healthcare
  • U.S. Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA)
  • Healthcare Management

  • Project Management Consulting
  • Strategy
  • Customer Service
  • Leadership

Showcase Your Technical Skills

As an NPI program manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of new products. This will require you to be proficient in a variety of software programs and systems, such as product lifecycle management (PLM) software, project management software, and computer-aided design (CAD) software. You will also need to have a solid understanding of big data concepts and platforms, as well as experience with data mining, machine learning, and modeling.
