How to Write a Paramedic Resume

Here’s how to write a paramedic resume of your own.

Write Compelling Bullet Points

Bullet points are the most important part of your resume because they’re the first thing recruiters will see. And they have to be compelling enough to make them want to read the rest of your resume.

So rather than just listing your responsibilities, you should use bullet points to describe the results of your work. For example, rather than saying you “provided patient care,” you could say you “provided care for 200 patients in a single shift, resulting in no patient complaints and a commendation from the hospital CEO.”

The second bullet point paints a much more vivid picture of what it’s like to work as a paramedic. And it also provides a clear indication of the level of responsibility required for the job.

Identify and Include Relevant Keywords

When you apply for a paramedic role, your resume will likely be scanned by an applicant tracking system (ATS) for certain keywords. This program looks for certain terms related to the job, like “emergency medicine” or “paramedic training” in order to determine whether your skills and experience are a match for the position.
