Here’s how to write a personal care assistant resume of your own.

Write Compelling Bullet Points

The best way to make your resume stand out is to include specific details about your experience. For example, rather than saying you “assisted residents with daily activities,” you could say that you “assisted residents with bathing, dressing, and meal preparation for 10 elderly residents every morning, ensuring that all tasks were completed on time and according to resident preferences.”

The second bullet point is much stronger because it provides specific details about what you did and the results of your work. It also includes a quantifiable number—10 residents—which makes it clear that you’re capable of handling a large workload.

Identify and Include Relevant Keywords

When you submit your resume online, it’s likely that it will be scanned by an applicant tracking system (ATS) for certain keywords. These programs look for certain terms that are relevant to the job you’re applying for, like “personal care assistant” or “bathing” in order to determine whether your skills and experience are a match.
