How to Write a Plumbing Foreman Resume

Here’s how to write a plumbing foreman resume of your own.

Write Compelling Bullet Points

The best way to make your resume stand out is to use strong, action-oriented language. Rather than saying you “managed a team of plumbers,” you could say you “led a team of 15 plumbers in the installation of new water filtration systems in 15 luxury high-rise apartment buildings in NYC.”

The second bullet point is much more interesting and provides a lot more detail about what exactly you did and the results of your work. It also provides a number to help quantify your experience.

Identify and Include Relevant Keywords

When you submit your resume online, it’s likely that it will be scanned by an applicant tracking system (ATS) for certain keywords. These programs look for specific terms related to the job opening in order to determine whether or not you have the skills and experience required for the role. If your resume doesn’t include enough of the right keywords, the ATS might filter out your application.

One way to make sure your resume makes it through the ATS is to include relevant plumbing foreman keywords throughout all sections of your resume. Here are some examples:

  • Plumbing
  • Construction
  • Construction Management
  • Contractors
  • Project Estimation
  • Project Planning
  • Contract Management
  • Value Engineering
  • Subcontracting
  • Renovation
  • Piping
  • Project Management
  • Pre-construction
  • Building Information Modeling (BIM)
  • Supervisory Skills
  • Facility Management (FM)
  • Process Scheduler
  • AutoCAD
  • Civil Engineering
  • Inspection
  • Blueprint Reading
  • Negotiation
  • Microsoft Access
  • Strategic Planning
  • Team Leadership
  • Management
  • Project Control
  • Drainage
  • Plumbing Fixtures
  • Microsoft Project

Showcase Your Technical Skills

As a plumbing foreman, you will be responsible for managing a team of plumbers and ensuring that they complete their work on time and within budget. In order to do this effectively, you will need to be proficient in the use of various software programs, including project management software, scheduling software, and invoicing software. Additionally, you will need to have a solid understanding of plumbing systems and how they work.
