How to Write a Postman Resume

Here’s how to write a postman resume of your own.

Write Compelling Bullet Points

Bullet points are the most important part of your resume because they’re the first thing recruiters will read. And if they’re not interesting or compelling, they’ll quickly move on to the next resume.

So it’s crucial that you use bullet points to showcase your experience, skills, and accomplishments. And the best way to do that is by using specific details and numbers. For example, rather than saying you “managed customer complaints,” say you “managed customer complaints resulting from shipping delays, resulting in a 98% satisfaction rate.”

The second bullet point is much more interesting and compelling because it provides specific details about what you did and the outcome of your work.

Identify and Include Relevant Keywords

When you submit an application for a job as a postman, it’s likely that your resume will go through an applicant tracking system (ATS). This program will search for certain keywords related to the position, like “delivery” or “mail sorting.” If your resume doesn’t have enough of the right terms, the ATS might disqualify you from further consideration.

To increase your chances of getting an interview, use this list of common postman keywords as a starting point:

  • Postal Services
  • Mail Processing
  • Logistics Management
  • Operations Management
  • Delivery
  • Teamwork
  • Customer Service
  • Transportation
  • Microsoft Access
  • Sales
  • Team Leadership
  • Communication
  • Public Speaking
  • Social Media
  • Leadership
  • Marketing
  • Negotiation
  • Stakeholder Management
  • Business Strategy
  • Data Entry
  • Interpersonal Skills
  • Time Management
  • International Shipping
  • Research
  • Retail
  • Data Analysis
  • Customer Relationship Management (CRM)
  • Post Office
  • Government
  • Diplomacy

Showcase Your Technical Skills

As a Postman, you will need to be proficient in the use of the Postman software in order to effectively manage your work. Postman allows you to manage your work by organizing your tasks, deadlines, and progress. Additionally, Postman provides you with the ability to communicate with other members of the postal team, including mail carriers and sorting clerks.
