How to Write a Project Engineer Resume

Here’s how to write a project engineer resume of your own.

Write Compelling Bullet Points

When it comes to writing bullet points, the more specific you can be, the better. Rather than saying you “managed projects,” you could say that you “managed $10M construction project for new corporate headquarters, ensuring on-time completion and within budget.”

The second bullet point is much more specific and provides a clear picture of what the project was, who was involved, and what the outcome was.

Identify and Include Relevant Keywords

ATS programs are designed to scan your resume for certain keywords related to the job you’re applying for. If your resume doesn’t include enough of the right keywords, your application might not make it past the initial screening process.

One way to make sure your resume includes the right keywords is to look at the job posting and take note of the terms that are used most frequently. Then, work those same words into your resume where it makes sense.

Additionally, you should be familiar with project management methodologies, like Agile or Scrum, and have experience working with project management tools, like Jira or Trello.
