What are some of the most important skills for a resource planner?

When planning for an event, what is the minimum amount of time you would allow for setup and cleanup?

We want to increase our use of renewable resources. What does this mean and how would you implement renewable resources in your planning?

This question is a great way to show your knowledge of the industry and how you can apply it. Your answer should include what renewable resources are, why they’re important and how you would implement them into your planning process.

Example: “Renewable resources are energy sources that we can use over and over again without diminishing their supply. This means that when we use these resources, we don’t have to worry about running out of them or having to find new ones. Renewable resources are also clean energy sources that help us reduce our carbon footprint. In my last role, I worked with the company’s CFO to create a plan for increasing our use of renewable resources.”

Describe your experience with project management software.

Resource planners use project management software to organize their projects and tasks. Employers ask this question to learn about your experience with using these types of programs. Use your answer to explain which type of software you’re familiar with and how it helped you complete your work.

Example: “I’ve used several different types of project management software in my previous roles. I started out using a program called Basecamp, but I found that it wasn’t as effective for large-scale projects. So, I switched to Microsoft Project where I could create more detailed reports and track the progress of multiple projects at once.
