Prepare for the types of questions you are likely to be asked when interviewing for a position at Scoot.

When you’re interviewing for a job at an airline, you can expect questions that assess your customer service skills, ability to handle difficult situations, and knowledge of the airline industry. But you may also be asked company-specific interview questions that are designed to gauge your fit for the Scoot culture.

To help you prepare, we’ve compiled a list of sample Scoot interview questions and answers. These questions will give you a better idea of what to expect during your interview and help you show that you’re the right candidate for the job.

Scoot Interview Process

The interview process at Scoot can vary depending on the position you are applying for. However, most positions will require you to complete an online assessment, followed by a face-to-face interview. For some positions, you may also be required to do a group assessment and/or role play. The entire process can take up to 5 weeks to complete.

1. Why do you want to be a flight attendant?

This question is a great way for the interviewer to learn more about your personality and how you view this job. They want to know that you are passionate about helping customers, enjoy working with people and have a positive attitude. Your answer should include information about why you chose this career path and what you hope to achieve as a flight attendant.

Example: “I wanted to be a flight attendant because I love being around people and making them happy. I also really enjoy traveling and exploring new places, so this seemed like the perfect opportunity to do both of those things at once. I am excited to help passengers feel comfortable on their trip and make sure they get where they need to go safely.”

2. Tell us about your passion for travel and working with people.

Scoot Airlines is a company that focuses on customer service and making sure their customers have the best experience possible. They want to know that you are passionate about travel and helping people.

Example: “I love traveling because it allows me to see new places, meet new people and learn more about the world around us. I also enjoy working with people because I feel like I can make a difference in someone’s day by providing them with excellent customer service. I am always looking for ways to improve my skills so that I can provide even better service to our passengers.”

3. What is the most difficult situation you have faced as a flight attendant, how did you handle it?

This question is a great way to show your problem-solving skills and how you handle stressful situations. When answering this question, it can be helpful to describe the situation in detail and then explain what steps you took to resolve the issue or solve the problem.

Example: “The most difficult situation I have faced as a flight attendant was when a passenger became verbally abusive toward me. The passenger was upset about their delayed flight and started yelling at me because they wanted an explanation for why the plane was late. I remained calm and explained that there were many factors that contributed to the delay, including weather conditions and mechanical issues. This seemed to appease the passenger, who apologized for their behavior.”

4. How would you deal with an unruly passenger?

This question is a great way to test your conflict resolution skills. It’s important that you remain calm and respectful when dealing with an unruly passenger, even if they’re being disrespectful toward you.

Example: “I would first try to diffuse the situation by asking them what I could do to make their experience more enjoyable. If this didn’t work, I would call for security or management to help me resolve the issue. Even though it can be difficult, I always treat passengers with respect because I know how stressful flying can be.”

5. Are you comfortable lifting up to 25 pounds?

This question is asked to determine if you are physically capable of performing the job duties. Employers ask this question because they want to make sure that you can lift heavy items, such as luggage and other supplies, without injuring yourself or others. When answering this question, be honest about your physical capabilities. If you cannot lift 25 pounds, explain what weight you can lift.

Example: “I am comfortable lifting up to 25 pounds. I have done so many times in my previous jobs, and I feel confident doing it again. However, if I need to lift more than 25 pounds, I will ask for help.”

6. Can you work in high-stress environments?

Scoot is a high-stress environment, and the interviewer wants to know if you can handle it. High-stress environments are common in airline companies because they have tight schedules and deadlines. When answering this question, show that you’re comfortable with stress and how you manage it.

Example: “I’m very comfortable working in high-stress environments. I’ve worked as an air traffic controller for five years now, so I’m used to stressful situations. In my previous job, I was responsible for making sure planes were safe before takeoff and landing. If there was ever a problem, I had to solve it quickly. I think I would be a great fit for your company.”

7. Do you have any experience providing customer service on flights?

8. Have you worked with groups of passengers before? If so, tell me about that experience.

Example: “I once had a flight where there were three different groups of people who all wanted to sit together. I asked the first group what seat they wanted, then asked the second group which seats they would like to switch with the first group. Then I asked the third group if they would be okay sitting in the remaining seats. They agreed, and everyone was happy.”

9. What are your thoughts on safety regulations?

Scoot is a budget airline, so it’s important that you understand the importance of safety regulations and how they affect your job. You should show the interviewer that you’re aware of the rules and regulations in place to ensure passenger safety and explain why these are important.

Example: “Safety is always my top priority when working on an aircraft. I know that if we follow all the rules and regulations set by the FAA, then our passengers will be safe during their flight. I also believe that as long as we have qualified pilots and mechanics, we can still offer competitive prices for our customers.”

10. Describe your personal style.

Employers ask this question to learn more about your personal style and how it relates to the company’s brand. When you answer, try to describe a few of your favorite colors or patterns and explain why they appeal to you. You can also mention any brands that you like to wear.

Example: “I have always been drawn to bold colors and patterns. I love wearing bright red lipstick and bold earrings because they make me feel confident. My favorite clothing brands are Forever 21 and H&M because they offer affordable pieces with fun designs. I think my personal style is very similar to Scoot’s brand.”

11. At Scoot, we value teamwork. What does teamwork mean to you?

Scoot wants to know that you value teamwork and collaboration. This is an important part of the company culture, so it’s essential that you can show your understanding of this concept in your answer.

Example: “Teamwork means working together toward a common goal. I think it’s important for everyone on a team to feel like they’re valued and respected. When people work together, they should be able to communicate their ideas and opinions without fear of being judged or criticized. Teammates should also support each other when things get challenging.”

12. We also place a strong emphasis on being able to think for yourself. Tell us about a time when you had to make a decision without consulting anyone else.

13. As a cabin crew member at Scoot, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the aircraft. Do you think you can manage this responsibility?

The interviewer will want to know that you are a responsible person who can handle the job’s duties. Use your answer to show that you have organizational skills and attention to detail.

Example: “I am very organized, so I think I would be able to keep track of all the cleaning supplies and equipment needed for each flight. I also like to stay busy, so I think I could find ways to make sure the aircraft is always clean and tidy.”

14. Can you speak multiple languages?

Scoot Airlines is a global company that operates in multiple countries. They may ask this question to see if you can communicate with their international customers and employees. If you speak another language, share which languages you know how to speak. If you don’t speak any other languages, explain why you chose not to learn one.

Example: “I grew up speaking English at home, so I never had the opportunity to learn another language. However, I would love to take classes or find an online program to help me learn a new language.”

15. Tell us about your experience working with international teams.

Scoot is an international airline company, so it’s important that you have experience working with people from different cultures. This question helps the interviewer determine if you’re comfortable working in a multicultural environment and how you’ve handled those situations in the past.

17. What is your greatest strength?

Employers ask this question to learn more about your personality and how you can contribute to their company. When answering, think of a strength that relates to the job description or one that you feel is important in customer service.

Example: “My greatest strength is my ability to remain calm under pressure. I have worked at several different call centers throughout my career, and each time I’ve been promoted, it’s because of my ability to stay calm when customers are upset. I know how to listen to what they’re saying and respond with empathy. This skill has helped me resolve many conflicts between myself and customers.”

18. What is your biggest weakness?

This question is a common one in interviews, and it’s often the time to show your sense of humor. Employers want to know that you can laugh at yourself and are self-aware. When answering this question, try to think of something that isn’t too serious but also shows you’re aware of what you need to work on.

Example: “My biggest weakness is my love for coffee. I’m always looking for new places to get coffee, so sometimes I’ll go out just to find a good cup of coffee. This has caused me to be late to work before, which is why I’ve started carrying an emergency travel mug with me.”

19. Describe a time where you had to give directions to someone, how did you approach the situation?

This question is a great way to show your communication skills and how you can help others. When answering this question, it’s important to highlight the steps you took to make sure the person understood what you were saying.

Example: “When I was working at my previous job, I had to give directions to someone who called in asking for them. The caller asked me where they could find a specific item in our store, so I told them exactly where it was located. They thanked me for my help and hung up the phone.”

20. What type of training programs have you participated in?

Scoot Airlines may ask this question to learn more about your experience with training programs. If you have not participated in any, you can explain what type of training you would like to participate in if hired.

Example: “I’ve never had the opportunity to participate in a formal training program, but I am very eager to do so. In my previous job as an administrative assistant, I took online courses on how to use different software and applications. I also completed several certification courses that helped me become familiar with Microsoft Office products. I believe these types of training programs are beneficial for employees because they help us develop our skills and knowledge.”
