How to Write a Senior Event Manager Resume

Here’s how to write a resume of your own.

Write Compelling Bullet Points

When you’re writing your bullet points, it can be tempting to just list your responsibilities and duties. But that’s not going to make a strong impression on recruiters. Instead, you should focus on the results of your work.

For example, rather than saying you “managed event logistics for large-scale conferences,” you could say that you “managed event logistics for large-scale conferences, resulting in zero incidents and a 98% satisfaction rate among attendees.”

The second bullet point paints a much clearer picture of what the job entailed and how well you did it. And it provides a quantifiable result—a 98% satisfaction rate!

Identify and Include Relevant Keywords

When you apply for a senior event manager role, your resume goes through an applicant tracking system (ATS). This program looks for certain keywords related to the job in order to determine whether you have the skills and experience required for the role. If your resume doesn’t include enough of the right terms, the ATS might filter out your application before it ever reaches a human recruiter.

To increase your chances of getting an interview, make sure to include senior event manager keywords throughout all sections of your resume. You can find a list of common senior event manager keywords below:

Showcase Your Technical Skills

As a senior event manager, you will be responsible for planning and executing events of all sizes. To be successful in this role, you will need to be proficient in a variety of software programs and systems. This might include event management software, project management software, and graphic design software. Additionally, you will need to be familiar with social media platforms and how to use them to promote events.

Including your technical skills on your resume will show potential employers that you have the necessary skills and experience to be successful in this role.
