How to Write a Social Media Producer Resume

Here’s how to write a resume of your own.

Write Compelling Bullet Points

When it comes to writing bullet points, the more specific you can be, the better. Rather than saying you “managed social media accounts,” you could say that you “managed Facebook and Twitter accounts for top-tier media company, growing follower count by 20% in six months and achieving a 9% engagement rate on Twitter.”

The second bullet point is much stronger because it provides specific numbers and details about what you did. It also includes a quantifiable result (9% engagement rate).

Identify and Include Relevant Keywords

When you apply for a social media producer role, your resume is likely to go through an applicant tracking system (ATS). This program will scan your resume for certain keywords related to the job, like “social media” or “content management.” If your resume doesn’t include enough of the right terms, the ATS might automatically reject your application.

To increase your chances of getting an interview, make sure to include relevant keywords throughout all the sections of your resume. Here are some common social media producer keywords to get you started:

  • Social Media
  • Video Production
  • Social Media Marketing
  • Videography
  • Adobe Premiere Pro
  • Video Editing
  • Instagram
  • Facebook
  • Digital Media
  • Photography
  • Adobe Photoshop
  • Editing
  • Final Cut Pro
  • After Effects
  • Writing
  • Creative Writing
  • Event Planning
  • Adobe Creative Suite
  • Twitter
  • Adobe Illustrator
  • Blogging
  • Public Relations
  • Social Media Communications
  • Facebook Marketing
  • Google Analytics
  • Digital Marketing
  • Social Media Advertising
  • Content Strategy
  • Advertising
  • Copywriting

Showcase Your Technical Skills

As a social media producer, you need to be proficient in the use of social media platforms, like Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. You should also be familiar with other digital platforms, like Snapchat and YouTube. In addition, it’s important to be able to use various types of software to create content, like video editing software, photo editing software, and graphic design software.
