20 Unifi Interview Questions and Answers

Prepare for the types of questions you are likely to be asked when interviewing for a position at Unifi.

1. Can you tell me about a time when you had to manage many tasks at once and how you approached it?

This required me to manage many different projects at once, including training new staff members, scheduling shifts and monitoring employee performance. I learned to prioritize tasks based on urgency and importance so I could ensure all operations ran smoothly.”

2. What do you know about Unifi?

This question is a great way to test your knowledge of Unifi and how you can apply it in the workplace. When answering this question, make sure to include what you know about Unifi’s services and products.

Example: “I have used Unifi for several years now, so I am very familiar with its services and products. The software has many features that help me manage my airport operations more efficiently. For example, I use the load control feature to track all incoming and outgoing cargo shipments. This helps me ensure that we are always sending out orders as quickly as possible.”

3. How would you handle dealing with an irate customer who refused to follow your instructions?

An interviewer may ask this question to assess your customer service skills. This is because you will likely interact with customers as an aviation operations specialist, and they want to make sure that you can handle these interactions effectively. In your answer, try to show the interviewer that you have strong interpersonal skills and are able to resolve conflict in a calm manner.

I would also offer to help them reschedule their flight so they can fly out at a later time.”

4. Tell me about a time where you were asked to perform outside of your job description, how did you respond?

This question is a great way to show your willingness to take on new challenges and responsibilities. When answering this question, it can be helpful to mention how you overcame the challenge or what skills you learned from the experience.

Example: “When I first started working at my current company, there was an issue with one of our unifi units. The unit would randomly shut off without warning, which could have been dangerous for passengers. My supervisor asked me if I knew anything about unifi systems, and I told her that I didn’t but that I’d be willing to learn. She gave me some online training courses and let me work on the problem myself. After watching the training videos and doing some research, I figured out that the system needed a software update. I updated the software and haven’t had any issues since.”

5. Are you comfortable working in a team environment?

Teamwork is an important skill to have in the aviation industry. Employers ask this question to make sure you are a good fit for their team. Use your answer to show that you enjoy working with others and can be a valuable member of a team.

Example: “I love working in a team environment. I find it much more enjoyable than working alone, especially when there’s a lot of work to do. In my last job, I was part of a three-person team that handled customer service calls. We each had our own responsibilities, but we also worked together to solve problems and help each other out when needed.”

6. How would you approach a customer that was in a hurry and needed assistance quickly?

This question can help the interviewer understand how you handle stressful situations and your ability to prioritize tasks. Use examples from previous work experience or describe a situation that could happen in this role.

Example: “I would first ask what their issue was, then I would try my best to solve it as quickly as possible. If there were any other issues they needed assistance with, I would address those after solving the initial problem. This helps me ensure that I am providing quality customer service while also ensuring that all of their needs are met.”

7. Why are you interested in this position at Unifi?

8. Do you have experience working on the tarmac and driving ramp vehicles?

The interviewer may ask this question to see if you have experience working in a similar environment. If you do, share your experiences and how they helped prepare you for the role.

9. Provide us with examples of times when you worked as part of a team.

Example: “In my current role as a load control agent, I am part of a team that includes operations agents, customer service representatives and other support staff members. We all work together to ensure the safety of passengers and flight crew members while also ensuring that aircraft are loaded according to FAA regulations. This is an important responsibility, so we communicate regularly to make sure everyone understands their roles and responsibilities.”

10. Describe your communication skills.

An employer may ask this question to learn more about your ability to communicate with others in the workplace. When answering, it can be helpful to provide an example of a time you used effective communication skills to solve a problem or achieve a goal.

Example: “I have excellent communication skills and am able to clearly explain complex ideas to my coworkers. For instance, when I started working at my previous job, there was some confusion among employees about how to use the company’s new software program. I volunteered to lead a training session on the software, which helped other employees understand its features and use it effectively.”

11. Have you ever been involved in an accident while operating a vehicle?

An interviewer may ask this question to learn more about your driving history and how you handled the situation. If you have been involved in an accident, explain what happened and how you resolved it.

Example: “I was once involved in a minor accident while operating a vehicle for my previous employer. I was transporting passengers when another driver made a sudden lane change without signaling. The other driver hit my car’s side mirror, which fell off. Fortunately, no one was injured during the incident. I immediately pulled over to assess the damage to my vehicle and ensure that all of my passengers were okay. After ensuring everyone was safe, I called my supervisor to report the incident. My supervisor arranged for a tow truck to pick up my vehicle and take it back to the garage.”

12. We need employees who can work well under pressure, give us an example of when you had to work under pressure and what you did to adapt.

This question is a great way to assess how adaptable you are in high-pressure situations. When answering this question, it can be helpful to think of an example that shows your ability to adapt and perform under pressure.

Example: “I once had to work a shift where I was the only employee on duty for the entire airport. This meant I would have to handle all passenger check-ins, baggage claim, boarding and unloading of planes and more. It took me about two hours to get everything done, but I managed to do it without any issues.”

13. How would you handle a situation if you didn’t know something or weren’t sure how to do something?

This question can help the interviewer determine how you learn new things and whether you’re willing to ask for help. Your answer should show that you are open to learning, but also confident in your abilities.

Example: “If I didn’t know something or wasn’t sure how to do something, I would first try to figure it out on my own by researching online or asking someone else who might know. If I still couldn’t figure it out after doing some research, I would ask a supervisor or manager for help.”

14. When have you adapted to change?

Unifi is a company that’s constantly adapting to change. The hiring manager may ask this question to see if you’re willing to adapt to their unique culture and processes. Use your answer to show the interviewer that you’re open to new challenges and can adapt quickly.

Example: “When I first started working in aviation, I was used to using paper checklists for everything. However, when I got hired at my current job, they were already using Unifi software. At first, it took me some time to get used to using the software, but now I’m very comfortable with it.”

15. Explain why you think Unifi is a good fit for you.

16. What would you say are your greatest strengths and weaknesses?

One time, I noticed that one passenger had left her purse in the terminal. I immediately contacted the pilot so he could return to the terminal to retrieve the purse. 20. How do you feel about working outdoors?

This question is a way for the interviewer to learn more about your personality and how you feel about working in an outdoor environment. You can answer this question by describing what you like about working outdoors, or if you prefer indoor work environments.

Example: “I enjoy working outside because I find it energizing. I love being able to see the planes take off and land, and I also enjoy interacting with passengers as they arrive at the airport. It’s rewarding to be able to help people when they’re traveling.”
