When it comes to interviewing with United Talent, there are a few things you can do to prepare and increase your chances of impressing the hiring manager. One way to do this is to research and anticipate common interview questions.

While there are some questions that are universal and can be asked at any company, United Talent also has some specific questions that they often ask candidates.

Some of the most common questions United Talent asks in interviews include:

United Talent Interview Process

The interview process at United Talent is long and drawn-out, with multiple rounds of interviews. The first round is usually with an external recruiter, followed by a member of the department you’re hoping to work in. The third round is a panel interview with 2-5 agents from your targeted department. Unfortunately, they seem to have issues with ghosting their candidates, even after three rounds which is pretty unheard of.

1. Tell me about yourself.

This is a common question that interviewers ask to get to know you better. They want to see if your personality and background align with the job description. In your answer, be sure to include information about your education, work experience and any other relevant details.

Example: “I grew up in Los Angeles where I attended UCLA for my bachelor’s degree in communications. After graduating, I worked as an assistant at United Talent Agency for two years before moving on to another agency. There, I was promoted to manager after only six months. Now, I’m back here at UTA and ready to take on new challenges.”

2. How do you manage multiple clients and tasks?

This question can help the interviewer understand how you prioritize your time and manage multiple projects. Use examples from previous experience to show that you are organized, detail-oriented and able to meet deadlines.

Example: “I have a calendar app on my phone where I keep track of all of my clients’ appointments and tasks. This helps me stay organized and ensures I don’t miss any important information or deadlines. In addition, I use an online task manager to create lists for each client so I can see what needs to be done and when it should be completed by.”

3. What is your favorite TV show or movie and why?

This question is a great way to learn more about your potential new colleagues. It can also help you determine if the agency’s clients are similar to the ones you’ve worked with in the past.

Example: “My favorite TV show is The Office, and my favorite movie is The Princess Bride. I love both because they’re funny but also have deeper meaning. They make me laugh out loud, which is something that I think is important for any entertainment business.”

4. Do you prefer to work individually or as a team?

This question can help employers determine how you might fit into their company culture. If they have a collaborative environment, it’s important to show that you enjoy working with others and are willing to do so. When answering this question, try to emphasize your ability to work independently as well.

Example: “I find I am most productive when I work on my own projects but also enjoy collaborating with others. I found these experiences very helpful because I learned from other students’ performances and was able to practice performing in front of an audience.”

5. Why do you want to work at United Talent Agency?

He agreed, and my client finally landed a role in a major motion picture.”

7. What are some of your personality traits that make you an ideal candidate for this role?

This question is an opportunity to show the interviewer that you have a strong understanding of your own personality and how it can benefit this role. When answering, try to think about what skills or traits you possess that would make you successful in this position.

Example: “I am extremely organized and detail-oriented, which I believe are two important qualities for someone working in this industry. In my previous roles, I’ve always been able to stay on top of deadlines and manage multiple projects at once. This skill has helped me work well with others as well, since I’m good at communicating when something needs to be done by.”

8. Would you say that you are detail-oriented? Provide an example.

This question is a great way to determine how well you can follow instructions and complete tasks. When answering this question, it’s important to show that you are organized and have the ability to work independently.

Example: “I would definitely say I am detail-oriented. In my previous role as an assistant manager at a retail store, I was responsible for ensuring all employees were following company policy and procedures. If they weren’t, I had to address them and provide feedback on what they needed to do differently. This helped me develop my organizational skills and learn how to manage others.”

9. Is there any additional information I should know before making a final decision on this position?

10. Can you tell me about a time where you had to deal with a difficult client and/or situation?

This question is a great way to see how you handle conflict and difficult situations. It’s important that you show the interviewer that you can remain calm, professional and empathetic when working with clients who may be upset or demanding.

11. When was the last time you made a mistake or failed? How did you handle it?

This question can help the interviewer get a better sense of your problem-solving skills and how you learn from your mistakes. Use examples from your past that show you learned from your mistake, improved yourself or developed new skills to prevent similar situations in the future.

Example: “In my last position as an assistant talent agent at United Talent Agency, I was helping one of our clients prepare for an important meeting with a casting director. The client asked me if they should wear their hair up or down, so I told them to wear it up because I thought it would look more professional. However, when they arrived at the meeting, they were wearing their hair down. They ended up getting the part, but I realized that I should have listened to their opinion instead of giving advice without knowing all the details.”

12. How would you rate your attention to detail?

13. In what ways do you think United Talent Agency can improve?

15. What kind of company culture appeals most to you?

United Talent Agency is a company that values its employees and their opinions. They want to know what kind of culture you would bring to the agency if hired. Your answer should show them that you are interested in working for an innovative, creative and collaborative team.

Example: “I am passionate about creating a positive work environment where everyone feels valued and appreciated. I believe that when people feel good at work, they will be more productive and efficient. In my last job, we had weekly meetings where we discussed our goals for the week and how we could support each other. 16. Have you ever written a script, article, poem, etc.? If so, please provide an example.

This question is a good way to assess your work ethic. It can also help the interviewer determine if you’re willing to put in extra hours when needed. When answering this question, it’s important to be honest about your willingness to work long hours and how you feel about overtime.

Example: “I’m happy to work long hours when necessary. I understand that sometimes projects require more time than expected. In my last role, I was working on a project with a tight deadline. The team worked late into the night for several days straight until we finished the project.”

19. What would be the first thing you would change if you were hired?

This question is a way for employers to see how you would make changes in their company. They want to know that you are willing to take initiative and improve the agency as soon as possible. In your answer, explain what you would change and why it’s important to do so.

Example: “The first thing I would change if I were hired here is the amount of time it takes to get back to clients after submitting queries. During my internship, I learned valuable information on what it takes to be successful in this industry. This knowledge has helped me develop my own personal goals and understand what it takes to succeed.”
