How to Write a Venture Partner Resume

Here’s how to write a resume of your own.

Write Compelling Bullet Points

Bullet points are a great way to showcase your experience and qualifications, but they’re only effective if they’re clear and concise. So rather than using vague phrases like “managed team of 10+ employees,” you could say that you “led team of 10+ employees in successful launch of new product line, resulting in 20%+ growth in Q1 2019.”

The second bullet point is much more specific and provides key details about what you did, how you did it, and the results of your work. That level of detail will make it clear to recruiters and hiring managers that you have the experience and knowledge required for the job.

Identify and Include Relevant Keywords

When you apply for a venture partner role, your resume is usually screened by an applicant tracking system (ATS). This program looks for certain keywords related to the position in order to determine whether you’re a good fit. If your resume doesn’t have enough of the right terms, your application might not even make it to a human eyes.

To increase your chances of getting an interview, make sure to include relevant keywords throughout all sections of your resume. Here are some common venture partner keywords and phrases to get you started:

  • Venture Capital
  • Investment Banking
  • Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A)

-Investment management software -Financial analysis software -Word processing and spreadsheet software -Customer relationship management (CRM) software
