The homeowner needed assistance right away because they were going out of town for the holidays. I worked quickly to assess the damage, take photos and gather information from the homeowner. Then, I communicated with my team members so we could all work on the case together. We got everything done before the homeowner left for their trip.”

4. Would you consider yourself an analytical person?

This question is a great way to determine how analytical you are and whether or not the company would be able to use your skills. When answering this question, it can be helpful to mention an example of when you used your analytical skills in a previous position.

Example: “I definitely consider myself an analytical person. In my last role as a financial analyst, I was responsible for analyzing data from our sales team. This information helped me create reports that showed which products were selling well and which ones weren’t performing as expected. The information I provided allowed my company to make informed decisions about what products they should continue producing.”

5. Do you feel comfortable working with large amounts of data?

Amwins Group is a data analytics company, so it’s important that you’re comfortable working with large amounts of data. Your answer should show the interviewer that you have experience in this area and can handle the job if hired.

Use examples from past projects to describe the steps of underwriting a client’s insurance policy, including gathering information and presenting it in an understandable way.

Example: “I enjoy working with my clients because I find that they are usually very knowledgeable about their own businesses or personal lives. In my last position, I worked with several different types of clients, including small business owners, individuals and families. When I first met with each new client, I asked questions about their current policies and what they were looking for in a new one. Then, I would explain the process of underwriting and provide them with a quote.”

10. We want our employees to feel like they can come to us with any problems or concerns. Have you ever felt uncomfortable talking to management before?

This question can help the interviewer determine how comfortable you are with conflict and whether you would be able to approach management if you ever had a problem at work. Your answer should show that you’re willing to speak up when something is wrong, even if it’s uncomfortable.

Example: “I’ve never felt uncomfortable talking to management before, but I have been hesitant to bring up concerns in the past because of my fear of being seen as negative or critical. However, I learned that it’s important to voice any issues so they can be addressed and fixed. Now, I’m more likely to come forward with any problems I see.”

11. What are some things that you’d like to improve upon if you were hired?

13. Give an example of a time where you had to work with someone who was difficult to get along with. How did you handle the situation?

Amwins Group is looking for team players who can work well with others. This question helps them determine if you have the ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with your colleagues. Use examples from previous experiences where you had to interact with someone who was difficult to get along with, but still managed to complete a project or task together.

Example: “In my last position as an accountant, I worked with a coworker who was very detail-oriented. While this helped me ensure that all of our numbers were correct, it also meant that they would often nitpick at my work. It became challenging to find a balance between their high standards and my desire to provide quality work. However, I learned how to manage their feedback in a way that allowed us to continue working together.”

14. Do you have prior experience working with reinsurance companies?

This question can help the interviewer determine your experience with a specific skill that is important for this role. Use examples from your past work to show how you used financial statements to make decisions and solve problems.

This included reviewing all of our expenses and revenue reports to check for any discrepancies or missing information. If there were any issues, I would contact the appropriate department to get more information about the discrepancy so we could fix it before submitting the report to our clients. This helped me understand the importance of accuracy in reporting.”

This question is an opportunity to show your problem-solving skills and ability to handle difficult situations. When answering this question, it can be helpful to mention a specific situation where you helped resolve a conflict with a customer or client.

Example: “In my previous role as an associate broker, I had a client who was upset because they felt like we weren’t listening to them. They were also frustrated that the home they purchased wasn’t in the condition they expected. After talking with the client, I realized that they just wanted someone to listen to their concerns. We ended up finding a solution by offering to give them a full refund on the property.”

17. When was the last time you had to make a decision without consulting your manager first?

This question can help the interviewer understand how you make decisions independently and when to seek guidance. Use your answer to highlight your critical thinking skills, problem-solving abilities and ability to work independently.

Example: “When I first started working as an insurance adjuster, I had a client who was in a car accident with another driver who didn’t have any insurance. The client’s injuries were minor, but they wanted me to give them more money than what their policy covered. I knew that if I gave them more money, it would take away from other clients who needed our help more. So, I consulted my manager about the situation and we decided together that we wouldn’t pay out more than what the policy covered.”

I believe that if everyone approaches their work with positivity, they will be more likely to collaborate well with others and find solutions to problems. Another quality I think is important is adaptability. In my previous role, I had to learn new software quickly, which required me to be flexible and open to change. Being able to adjust to different situations is an important skill.”

In your answer, try to explain what steps you would take to improve the process and why those steps are important.

Example: “I think it’s important to start by identifying the current issues with the process.
