If you have previous experience using CAD, explain what types of programs you’ve used in the past. If you don’t have any experience with CAD, discuss your ability to learn new technologies quickly.

Example: “I’ve worked with AutoCAD for several years now. I started out working on smaller projects that required less detail, but I eventually learned how to use it to complete more complex tasks. I’m comfortable using both 2D and 3D modeling techniques.”

16. Have you ever worked on a project that didn’t go well, how did you handle it?

This question can help the interviewer get a better idea of how you respond to challenges and learn from your mistakes. Use examples from previous work experiences that show you’re willing to take responsibility for your actions, are able to learn from your mistakes and have an ability to bounce back from failure.

Example: “In my last position as a customer service representative, I had a difficult time responding to customers who were upset or angry. After receiving several complaints about my demeanor on the phone, I decided to enroll in a public speaking course at night school. This helped me become more confident when talking to customers and reduced the number of complaints I received.”

17. How important is safety to you?

Atmos Energy is a company that values safety, and they want to make sure you do too. They ask this question to see if you are committed to keeping yourself and others safe while on the job. In your answer, explain how important it is to you to keep everyone around you safe at all times. Explain what steps you would take to ensure your own safety as well as the safety of those around you.

18. What is your experience with reading blueprints?

Atmos Energy often requires its employees to read blueprints, so the interviewer may ask this question to see if you have experience with reading technical documents. Use your answer to explain that you can read and understand blueprints and other technical documents.

Example: “I’ve worked in construction for several years now, so I’m used to reading blueprints. In my current position, I regularly need to interpret blueprints to find out where certain equipment is located or what needs to be done. I also use blueprints to determine how much materials we need to complete a job. I am very familiar with interpreting blueprints, so I don’t think it would take me long to get used to them at Atmos Energy.”

In fact, I installed solar panels on my neighbor’s home last year, and they were so happy with the results that they referred me to Atmos Energy. I’m confident that I can help the company grow its renewable energy portfolio.”

20. What are some of your strengths & weaknesses?

This question is a common one in interviews, and it’s important to be honest. Employers want to know what your strengths are so they can use them, but they also want to know about any weaknesses you have so they can help you improve. When answering this question, try to focus on your strengths first and then mention any areas where you could improve.
