Crunch Fitness members are generally permitted to bring guests to the facility, offering an opportunity for friends and family to experience the gym environment. The ability to bring a guest, along with the scope of their access, is determined entirely by the member’s specific membership package. These guest privileges come with requirements that must be met at the time of entry. Understanding the difference between membership tiers is the first step in knowing what kind of access a guest will receive.
Understanding Guest Privileges by Membership Tier
Guest privileges are reserved for the higher-tier membership levels offered by Crunch Fitness. The entry-level “Base” membership package does not typically include any complimentary guest access, meaning members on this plan generally cannot bring a companion to work out with them. Access to guest passes begins with the mid-tier “Peak” membership, which allows the member to bring one guest per visit to their home location.
The most comprehensive guest access is granted through the top-tier “Peak Results” package, sometimes branded as “Summit” or “Peak Plus” in certain locations. Members with this plan often receive unlimited guest privileges, allowing them to bring one free guest every time they visit. Guest access is usually restricted to the member’s home gym or the specific franchise-owned locations covered by their membership agreement. This guest benefit rarely extends to the nationwide reciprocal access that the member themselves might enjoy.
The Process for Registering a Guest
Successfully checking a guest into the facility requires a specific procedure to ensure compliance with gym policies and liability regulations. The member must be physically present with their guest at the front desk when checking in, as the guest pass is tied directly to the member’s active account. Guests are required to present a valid form of photo identification, such as a driver’s license, to verify their identity and age before they can be granted access.
During the initial visit, all guests are required to complete and sign a liability waiver, which acknowledges the risks associated with physical activity and gym use. The guest must complete a guest register on every subsequent visit. It is a common policy that the member and guest must arrive at the club and depart from the club at the same time. Guests cannot be pre-registered through the member’s mobile application; all check-in procedures must be completed in person with the front desk staff.
Frequency Limits and Time Restrictions for Guest Passes
The primary limitation on guest passes is the “one guest per visit” rule, which applies across all membership tiers that include guest access. A Peak or Peak Results member is generally permitted to bring a single guest with them each time they visit the club. This guest can be the same person for every visit, or the member can choose to bring a different individual each time, provided they meet all other policy requirements.
While members with 24/7 access may be able to enter the gym at any hour, guests are typically restricted to using the facility only during the club’s staffed business hours. The requirement for the member to check the guest in with a staff member at the front desk inherently limits the guest’s access to times when personnel are available. Guest access is limited to the frequency permitted by the member’s plan, such as one guest per day.
Guest Access to Classes and Premium Amenities
Once a guest is checked in, their access to the gym’s offerings is not always equivalent to the member’s access, particularly concerning specialized classes and recovery amenities. A standard guest pass typically grants access to the general workout floor, including cardio and strength training equipment, as well as participation in most basic group fitness classes. However, certain proprietary Crunch classes are often excluded from a guest pass.
Guests are generally restricted from using the club’s premium amenities. This includes the Relax & Recover Area, specialized services like HydroMassage, tanning beds, and red light therapy, as well as dedicated small studio classes such as Ride and HIITZone sessions. Guests may be able to pay an additional, per-visit fee to access some of these premium amenities, but this is subject to the specific club’s local policy. Basic amenities, such as locker rooms and showers, are available to checked-in guests.
Essential Guest Policies and Age Requirements
Age requirements for guests are strictly enforced and vary depending on the guest’s age and the member’s membership level. Individuals utilizing a free trial pass must be at least 18 years old, but a member can bring a guest who is 16 years or older. For guests who are 14 or 15 years old, they can only be brought in by a “Summit” or “Peak Results” member who is 18 years or older, and the adult member must act as their guardian and remain present.
The member who brings the guest is responsible for that person’s conduct while they are on the premises. Guests must abide by all gym rules and etiquette, including not engaging in training other members or guests, as only Crunch-certified personal trainers are permitted to conduct business in the facility.
