Example: “I worked as a server at a restaurant for five years before I started my current position. During that time, I learned how to interact with customers and develop strategies to increase tips. I also learned how to manage multiple tables at once and prioritize tasks so I could provide excellent service to all of my guests.”

2. Do you have a car and/or reliable transportation?

If you’re interviewing for a position that requires you to travel, the interviewer may ask this question to determine if you have reliable transportation. If you don’t have your own vehicle, let them know about other options you can use to get to work on time.

Example: “I do have my own car and I’m happy to drive myself to work every day. However, I also have access to public transportation and would be willing to take it if needed.”

3. Why do you want to work for DISH?

This question is a great way for employers to learn more about your interest in their company. When answering this question, it can be helpful to mention specific aspects of the company that you admire or things you’ve heard about them.

Example: “I have been interested in working for DISH since I first started looking into satellite service providers. I was impressed by how many different packages and services they offer, as well as the quality of customer service reviews I read online. I think I would fit really well with the culture here.”

4. Are you willing to learn about new products?

This question is a great way to determine if the company you’re interviewing with offers training for new products. If they do, it’s likely that you’ll be able to learn about new products and services as they become available.

Example: “I’m always looking for ways to expand my knowledge of technology. I’ve been working in this field for five years now, but I still love learning more about how things work. When I started out, I was only familiar with satellite television, but I learned about audio programming and interactive television services fairly quickly. I would definitely be willing to learn about any new products or services Dish Network might offer.”

5. Tell me about a time when you had to deal with an irate customer, how did you handle it?

Dish Network is a customer service-oriented company, so it’s important to be able to handle difficult situations. When answering this question, make sure you highlight your problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.

Example: “I once had a customer who was upset because he thought we were raising his bill without telling him. I explained that the price increase was due to an FCC regulation change. 6. Have you worked in the satellite industry before?

For example, my knowledge of networking and troubleshooting can be applied to Dish Network’s systems.”

7. How would you ensure that all of the customers on your route were satisfied?

This question is an opportunity to show your customer service skills and ability to work with a team. Your answer should include examples of how you would interact with customers, as well as the steps you would take to ensure that all customers were satisfied with their services.

Example: “I have excellent communication skills, which I believe are essential for working in this role. When I am on my route, I always make sure to greet each customer by name and ask them about their day. This helps me build rapport with customers and ensures they feel comfortable asking questions or voicing concerns. If a customer has any issues, I will do everything I can to resolve it quickly so they’re happy with their service.”

8. Can you provide examples of past sales numbers?

This question is a great way to show your potential employer how you’ve contributed to the success of past employers. When answering this question, it can be helpful to include specific numbers and percentages that demonstrate your sales skills.

Example: “In my last position as a satellite television provider, I increased monthly subscriptions by 10% in one year. This was accomplished through an increase in advertising campaigns and customer service training for our team members.”

9. Tell me about a time when you made a mistake at work, what was the impact and how did you address it?

This question is a great way to learn more about how you respond to challenges and mistakes. It’s important to be honest in your answer, but also show that you learned from the experience.

Example: “When I first started working as an account manager for my previous employer, I was so excited to get out into the field and meet with clients. One day, I met with a client who had questions about their bill. I looked over their account and realized that they were paying too much for their service. 10. How well do you perform under pressure?

DISH is a fast-paced environment, and the interviewer wants to make sure you can handle that. Your answer should show your ability to stay calm under pressure and perform well in a high-pressure situation.

Example: “I thrive under pressure because I know it’s an opportunity for me to prove myself. In my last role as a customer service representative, I had a lot of customers calling in with questions about their bills or wanting to cancel their services. I always made sure to remain calm and helpful when answering these calls so that I could help them resolve any issues they were having.”

11. Describe your experience working with different types of computer operating systems.

The interviewer may ask this question to learn more about your computer skills and how you apply them in a work environment. Use examples from previous jobs or describe what operating systems you’re familiar with if you haven’t worked in an office setting before.

Example: “I’ve used Windows, Mac OS X and Linux extensively throughout my career as a freelance web designer. I find that each system has its own benefits and drawbacks, but I’m comfortable using all of them. In fact, I prefer working on Linux because it’s free and open-source software, which means I can modify the code however I want.”

12. Give us an example of a time when you used good judgement and logic in solving a problem.

This question is a great way to show your problem-solving skills and how you can use logic to make decisions. When answering this question, it’s important to highlight the steps you took to solve the problem and what the outcome was.

Example: “When I worked as an IT specialist for a small business, my manager asked me to help them find a new software program that would allow their employees to track their hours more efficiently. After researching several different programs, we decided on one that could be customized to fit our needs. The new software helped us save time by allowing employees to clock in and out of work remotely.”

13. How comfortable are you communicating with people over the phone?

This question can help the interviewer determine if you have experience working in customer service. If you do, they may want to know how your previous experiences compare to this role. If you don’t have much experience with phone communication, you can talk about a time when you had to communicate over the phone and what skills you used to be successful.

Example: “I’ve worked as a receptionist for several years now, so I’m very comfortable communicating with people over the phone. In my current position, I answer phones during the day and take reservations at night. I find that I enjoy talking on the phone because it gives me an opportunity to practice my interpersonal communication skills.”

14. We offer our technicians commission based pay. Would that be something you would be interested in?

This question is a great way to determine if the candidate would be interested in working for commission. If they are, you can explain how much of their pay comes from commissions and what that looks like. If they aren’t, you can explain how our technicians receive an hourly wage with benefits.

Example: “Yes, I am very interested in commission based pay. As someone who has worked on commission before, I know it’s a great motivator for me to work hard and provide excellent customer service.”

15. Tell us about a time when you had multiple projects going on at once, how did you manage everything?

This question can help the interviewer get a better idea of how you handle multiple responsibilities and your time management skills. Use examples from previous jobs or school projects to show that you are organized, efficient and able to meet deadlines.

Example: “In my last job as an assistant manager at a restaurant, I had many tasks going on at once. For example, I was responsible for managing employees, handling customer complaints and ensuring food quality standards were met. However, I am very good at multitasking and have developed excellent time management skills over the years.”

16. Describe your experience with installing satellite equipment.

This question is an opportunity to show your technical skills and knowledge of the job. If you have experience installing satellite equipment, describe it in detail. If you don’t have direct experience, you can talk about a time when you worked with someone who did.

Example: “I’ve installed satellite equipment for several customers before. I first make sure that the customer has all the necessary tools and materials needed to install the equipment. Then, I connect the dish antenna to the receiver box using coaxial cable. Next, I attach the LNB to the dish’s arm and mount it on the pole. Finally, I connect the power cord from the dish to the receiver.”

17. Can you tell me about a time when you had to make a decision without having enough information?

This question can help an interviewer understand how you make decisions and the thought process behind them. It can also show them that you’re willing to take responsibility for your actions, even if you don’t have all of the information at hand.

Example: “In my last position as a customer service representative, I had to handle a call from a customer who was upset about their bill. They were adamant that they should be paying less than what they were being charged. While I could see on their account that they were overpaying by $50 per month, I couldn’t tell why. After asking several questions, I discovered that they had forgotten to cancel a premium channel they no longer subscribed to. Once I explained this to them, they understood and thanked me for helping them save money.”

18. Are you familiar with reading technical manuals?

This question is a good way to determine if you have the ability to learn new technology and apply it in your work. If you are interviewing for an entry-level position, you may not need to be as familiar with technical manuals as someone who has more experience. However, you should still be able to read them and understand what they’re saying.

Example: “I am very comfortable reading technical manuals because I’ve had to do so at every job I’ve ever had. In my current role, I’m responsible for troubleshooting issues that customers call in about. When they call in, I ask them questions to get more information about their issue. Then, I look up the problem in the manual and try to fix it myself before transferring the customer to a senior technician.”

19. Tell us about a time when you saw potential in someone who didn’t see it in themselves, how did you help them recognize their potential?

This question can help the interviewer learn more about your leadership skills and how you motivate others. Use examples from your past experience to show that you’re a strong leader who’s able to inspire those around you.

Example: “In my last position, I had a coworker who was always looking for ways to improve their work. They would ask me questions about what they could do to make their job easier or if there were any new programs we could use to streamline our processes. I told them that I believed in their abilities and encouraged them to take on more responsibilities within the company.”

20. If hired, what skills or qualities would you bring to DISH?

This question is an opportunity to show the interviewer that you have researched DISH and understand what they are looking for in a candidate. Use your answer to highlight any skills or experiences that match those listed in the job description.

Example: “I would bring my customer service experience, which I feel is essential for working in this role. In my previous position as a sales representative at ABC Company, I was responsible for answering questions about our products and services and helping customers find solutions to their problems. This helped me develop excellent communication and problem-solving skills.”
