19. What are some of your accomplishments as an engineer?

When answering this question, think of some of your most recent accomplishments as an engineer. You can also include things like promotions or awards you’ve received.

Example: “In my last position, I was responsible for designing new products for our company. One of my biggest accomplishments was creating a new line of energy-efficient light bulbs. These were so successful that we sold out within two months of launching them. Another accomplishment was being promoted to lead engineer after only one year on the job.”

20. When was a time that you had to adapt to change quickly?

Employers ask this question to see how you adapt to change and whether or not you can do so quickly. They want to know that you are a team player who is willing to help others when needed. In your answer, explain what the situation was and how you helped make it easier for everyone involved.

Example: “When I first started working at my previous job, we had a different system in place for tracking inventory. However, our company decided to switch to a new software program that tracked inventory differently. At first, I was confused about how to use the new system, but I asked my coworkers questions and learned how to use the new system within a few days. Now, I am comfortable using both systems.”
