1. Why do you want to work at Gallagher?

2. Do you have experience working with clients in the insurance industry?

This question can help the interviewer determine if you have experience working with clients in a similar industry. If you do not, you can explain what other types of clients you’ve worked with and how your skills apply to this role.

Example: “I have extensive experience working with insurance companies as an underwriter. I enjoy helping people understand their policies and find ways to save money on premiums. 3. What is your approach to solving a problem when there are multiple solutions?

This question can help the interviewer determine how you approach a problem and whether your solution aligns with Gallagher’s values. Use examples from past experiences to explain how you would choose between multiple solutions, what factors you consider when making that decision and how you implement your chosen solution.

Example: “When there are multiple solutions to a problem, I first evaluate which solution is most important for achieving my goals. 4. How would you handle an angry client?

Example: “In my last position as an event planner, I had a client who was upset because we didn’t meet their budget requirements. Instead of trying to explain why we couldn’t do more, I apologized and offered to find ways to make up for the cost difference. The client agreed to go forward with our original plans, and they were happy with the final product.”

5. Describe how you would generate business for our company.

This question is a great way to show your sales skills and how you can help the company grow. When answering this question, it’s important to highlight your communication and presentation skills.

Example: “I would start by researching our target audience and finding out what their needs are. I would then create a marketing plan that outlines my goals for each quarter. I would also make sure to have a strong social media presence so I could reach as many people as possible. I would use Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and other platforms to share content about Gallagher and its products.”

6. Tell me about a time that you had to deal with a difficult team member, how did you handle it?

This question can help the interviewer determine how you handle conflict and whether or not you have experience resolving it. When answering, be sure to highlight your communication skills and ability to resolve conflicts in a positive way.

Example: “In my last position as an event planner, I had a team member who was constantly late for meetings and sometimes didn’t show up at all. Instead of confronting them about their behavior, I scheduled weekly check-in meetings with each team member so we could discuss any issues before they became larger problems. After two weeks, I brought up the issue with this team member and asked if there was anything I could do to make their job easier. They apologized and said they were having some personal issues that were causing them stress. We talked through ways I could help them feel more comfortable at work and ensure they would always attend our meetings.”

7. If a client wants to leave us and go elsewhere, what would you say to persuade them from leaving?

This question is a great way to test your sales skills and ability to persuade clients. When answering this question, it can be helpful to think of a time when you convinced a client to stay with Gallagher.

Example: “I would first ask them why they wanted to leave us. If there was something I could do to improve their experience, I would try my best to make that happen. If the only reason they were leaving was because they found a lower price elsewhere, I would explain how we are committed to providing excellent customer service and value for our customers. I would also tell them about some of the other benefits we offer, such as free shipping or discounts on future purchases.”

8. Tell me about a time where you went above and beyond for a customer or client.

This question is a great way to show your dedication and willingness to go the extra mile for others. When answering this question, it can be helpful to think of a specific situation where you went above and beyond for a customer or client and how that helped them in some way.

Example: “When I was working at my previous job, we had a customer who ordered a lot of our products but always complained about their quality. We tried everything we could to make sure they were happy with their order, but they would still complain. Finally, I decided to personally deliver their order so I could see if there was anything wrong with it myself. Sure enough, when I delivered the order, I found out that one of the items was missing. I immediately called my manager to let her know what happened and she sent another item right away.”

9. We need people who can come up with new ideas. What are some of yours?

This question is a great way to see how creative you are and whether your ideas align with the company’s goals. When answering this question, it can be helpful to mention an idea that was implemented or one that you would implement if given the chance.

Example: “I think there are many ways we could improve our customer service. One of my ideas is to have a live chat feature on our website so customers can ask questions before they buy something. This would help us answer any questions they may have about our products and make sure they’re happy with their purchase. Another idea I have is to create a loyalty program where people get points for every dollar they spend and then use those points to get discounts on future purchases.”

10. What do you think makes a successful salesperson?

This question can help the interviewer get to know your perspective on what it takes to be successful in a sales role. Use examples from your own experience and explain how you think about success as a salesperson.

Example: “I believe that being successful in sales requires having strong communication skills, an understanding of customer needs and a genuine interest in helping others. I also think it’s important to have confidence in yourself and your product or service. 11. Tell me about a time where you had to give positive feedback to someone even though they weren’t doing well.

12. Give an example of a goal you reached and tell me how you achieved it?

This question is a great way to show your potential employer that you are goal-oriented and have the ability to achieve them. When answering this question, it can be helpful to give an example of a specific goal you set for yourself and how you achieved it.

Example: “When I first started working at my previous job, I had a goal of learning all of the company’s software programs within six months. At first, I was overwhelmed by the amount of information I needed to learn, but I decided to break up my studying into smaller chunks. For instance, I would study one program for two weeks before moving on to another. After about three months, I learned all of the programs and became comfortable using them.”

13. Have you ever dealt with an unexpected loss on a project? How did you manage it?

This question can help the interviewer understand how you handle challenging situations and whether you have experience working in a fast-paced environment. Use your answer to highlight your problem-solving skills, ability to adapt quickly and commitment to getting projects done on time.

Example: “In my last position as an interior designer, I was working with a client who wanted to create a nursery that would be gender neutral. The client had already purchased all of the furniture for the room, so we couldn’t change it. When I realized there wasn’t enough space for both a crib and a dresser, I suggested adding a changing table instead. My client loved the idea, and we were able to use the existing furniture to create a functional nursery.”

14. What computer programs are you familiar with?

The interviewer may ask this question to see if you have experience with the computer programs they use at Gallagher. If you don’t have experience with their specific programs, explain which programs you’re familiar with and why you feel confident using them.

Example: “I’m very comfortable working with Microsoft Office programs like Word, Excel and PowerPoint. I also have some experience with Adobe Creative Cloud, including Photoshop and InDesign. These programs are helpful for creating marketing materials and designing brochures and flyers.”

15. As an account manager, how would you prioritize your workload?

Account managers are responsible for managing multiple clients at once. Employers ask this question to see if you can effectively manage your time and workload. In your answer, explain how you would prioritize your tasks each day. Explain that you will always complete the most important tasks first.

Example: “I would start my workday by checking in with all of my current clients. I would make sure they were happy with our services and address any concerns or questions they had. After that, I would move on to new client acquisition. I find it’s best to focus on both existing and potential customers because doing so helps build a strong reputation.”

16. Are you comfortable cold calling potential clients?

Cold calling is a common practice in sales, and the interviewer may ask this question to see if you have experience with it. If you do, they might want to know how comfortable you are doing it. If you don’t, they might want to know whether you’re willing to learn. In your answer, be honest about your comfort level and willingness to learn or develop new skills.

Example: “I’ve done cold calls before, but I’m not as experienced at them as other methods of reaching out to potential clients. However, I am open to learning more about cold calling techniques and practicing them so that I can become more comfortable with them.”

17. What qualities make you a good leader?

Gallagher is a leader in the security industry, so employers ask this question to make sure you have the qualities they’re looking for. When answering this question, think about what makes you a good leader and how those skills can help you succeed in this role.

Example: “I believe that being a good leader means having integrity and honesty. I am always honest with my team members and treat them with respect. Another quality of a good leader is communication. I like to keep everyone informed on what’s going on and encourage open lines of communication. This helps me learn more about my team members and gives them an opportunity to share their ideas.”

18. Do you prefer to work independently or as part of a group?

This question can help the interviewer determine how you might fit into their organization. If you’re applying for a position that requires working independently, it’s important to show your ability to do so effectively. When answering this question, consider what type of work you’ll be doing and highlight any skills or experience that make you well-suited to the role.

Example: “I enjoy both independent and collaborative work environments. I find that when I’m working on my own, I can focus more deeply on the task at hand and produce higher quality results. However, I also value teamwork and collaboration because it allows me to learn from others and develop new skills. In my last job, I worked as part of a team to complete projects. 19. Do you have any experience coding?

This question is a great way to see if you have any experience with the Gallagher system. If you do, it’s important to mention that in your answer and explain how you used it. If you don’t have coding experience, you can still talk about your ability to learn new systems quickly.

Example: “I’ve never coded before, but I am very good at learning new systems. When I started my last job, we were using a different software than what they use now. It took me only a few days to get comfortable with the new system.”

20. Describe a situation where you were able to help a coworker improve their skills.
