How to Get a Replacement Cash App Card Fast

You can order a replacement Cash App card directly through the app in under a minute. The process starts on the Money tab, where you’ll report your current card as lost, stolen, or damaged and request a new one. A standard replacement costs $5.

How to Order a Replacement Card

Open Cash App and follow these steps:

  • Tap the Money tab at the bottom of the screen
  • Select the image of your Cash Card at the top
  • Tap Get card support
  • Select Report card issue
  • Choose the reason that fits your situation: Card stolen/compromised or Card missing
  • Follow the remaining prompts to confirm your shipping address and order the new card

Once you submit the request, your old card is permanently deactivated. No one can use it for purchases or ATM withdrawals after that point, so if you later find the card in a couch cushion, it won’t work anymore.

What It Costs

A standard replacement Cash Card costs $5, which is deducted from your Cash App balance. If you previously had a custom design or a metal card, you can reorder the same style, but the fee is higher. Metal card replacements cost $50. If you’d rather save the money, you can switch to a standard card design for the $5 fee instead.

Using Your Card Before It Arrives

You don’t have to wait for the physical card to start spending. As soon as you order the replacement, your new card details (card number, expiration date, and CVV) may be available in the Money tab. You can use those details for online purchases right away.

You can also add the new card to Apple Pay or Google Pay immediately after ordering. That gives you contactless payments at any store that accepts tap-to-pay, which covers millions of locations. This is the fastest way to keep using your Cash App balance for in-person purchases while the physical card is in transit.

How Long Delivery Takes

Cash App ships replacement cards by standard mail. Most cards arrive within 10 to 14 business days, though some users report receiving theirs sooner. The app does not currently offer an expedited shipping option, so plan accordingly if you rely on the physical card for ATM withdrawals or chip transactions.

If your card hasn’t arrived after two weeks, reach out to Cash App support. You can start a chat 24/7 inside the app or call (800) 969-1940, which is available daily from 8 AM to 9:30 PM ET.

If Your Card Was Stolen

When you select “Card stolen/compromised” during the replacement process, Cash App immediately disables the old card. Before you order the replacement, it’s worth checking your transaction history in the Activity tab for any charges you don’t recognize. If you spot unauthorized transactions, report them through the app’s support chat or by phone so Cash App can investigate and potentially reverse the charges.

For extra security going forward, enable the security lock feature. Go to the Money tab, tap your card image, and toggle on the option that requires you to approve each transaction from your phone. This adds a layer of protection if a future card is ever lost or stolen, since charges won’t go through without your confirmation.

Activating Your New Card

When the replacement card arrives in the mail, open Cash App and tap the Money tab. You’ll see a prompt to activate the new card. You can either scan the QR code printed on the card’s packaging or manually enter the last four digits of the new card number. Once activated, the physical card is ready for in-store purchases, chip transactions, and ATM withdrawals immediately.

If you already added the card to Apple Pay or Google Pay while waiting, those digital wallets will continue to work without any changes. The physical and digital versions share the same account, so your balance stays the same regardless of which method you use.
