How to Reorder Your Cash App Card: Steps & Costs

You can reorder a Cash App card directly in the app by navigating to your card settings and reporting the current card as lost, stolen, or damaged. The process takes about two minutes, costs $5 for a standard card, and a replacement typically arrives within 7 to 10 business days.

Steps to Reorder Your Card

Cash App handles reorders through its card support menu. Open the app and follow these steps:

  • Tap the Money tab (the dollar sign icon at the bottom of the screen)
  • Select your Cash App Card image at the top of the screen
  • Tap Get card support
  • Select Report card issue
  • Choose the reason that fits your situation: Card stolen/compromised or Card missing
  • Follow the remaining prompts to confirm your shipping address and order the replacement

Once you submit the request, your old card number is deactivated immediately. This means no one can use it for purchases or ATM withdrawals, even if the physical card is still out there somewhere. Your Cash App balance stays in your account and isn’t affected by the replacement.

What It Costs

A standard replacement card costs $5, which is deducted from your Cash App balance when you place the order. If you have a metal Cash App Card (the heavier, premium version), the replacement fee jumps to $50. Make sure you have enough balance in your account to cover the fee before you start the process, or the order may not go through.

Shipping and Delivery

Cash App ships replacement cards to the mailing address on file. Cards should arrive within 7 to 10 business days, so plan for roughly two weeks from the day you place the order. Before confirming, double check that your address is current. If you’ve moved recently, update your address in the app’s profile settings first to avoid sending the card to an old location.

During the wait, you can still send and receive money through the app, use your Cash App balance for online purchases where you have your card number saved, and transfer funds to your linked bank account. You just won’t be able to tap or swipe at physical stores or use ATMs until the new card arrives.

Activating Your New Card

When the replacement arrives, you’ll need to activate it before it works. Open the Cash App, go to the Money tab, and tap your card image. The app will prompt you to activate the new card by scanning the QR code printed on the packaging or by manually entering the card details. Your new card will have a different number, expiration date, and CVV than the old one, so update any subscriptions or autopay accounts that were tied to your previous card information.

If Your Card Was Stolen

If you suspect someone stole your card or used it without your permission, report it through the same steps above and select “Card stolen/compromised.” This flags the card for fraud and disables it right away. After reporting, review your recent transactions in the app’s Activity tab. If you spot charges you didn’t make, tap the transaction and select the option to dispute it. Cash App will investigate and may issue a refund to your balance if the charge is confirmed as unauthorized. Acting quickly matters here, since disputes filed sooner tend to resolve faster.

When You Just Want a New Design

If your current card works fine but you want a fresh look, the reorder process is the same. You’ll go through card support, indicate you need a replacement, and pay the $5 fee. During the order flow, you can customize your new card’s color and signature design just like you did when you first ordered. Keep in mind that your old card stops working as soon as the new one is ordered, so you’ll be without a physical card for the shipping window.
