How to Send Bitcoin on Crypto.com to Any Wallet

Sending bitcoin from Crypto.com takes just a few taps, but the process differs depending on whether you’re transferring to an external wallet or to another Crypto.com user. External transfers go through the Bitcoin blockchain and carry a network fee, while internal transfers between Crypto.com users are free and settle instantly. Here’s how both methods work.

Sending Bitcoin to an External Wallet

This is the method you’ll use when moving bitcoin to a hardware wallet, a different exchange, or any wallet address outside of Crypto.com. The full process looks like this:

  • Open your wallet. Go to Accounts in the Crypto.com app and tap Crypto Wallet.
  • Start the withdrawal. Tap the Transfer button, then select Withdraw, then External Wallet.
  • Pick your destination. Select the whitelisted wallet address you want to send to. If you haven’t added the address yet, you’ll need to whitelist it first (more on that below).
  • Choose currency and amount. Select BTC and enter the amount you want to send.
  • Review and confirm. Double-check the address, network, and amount on the confirmation screen, then tap Confirm.
  • Verify your identity. You’ll either verify with your passkey (if you’ve set one up) or confirm using an SMS code plus a two-factor authentication code from your authenticator app.

Once you complete verification, your withdrawal request is submitted. The transfer then needs to be confirmed on the Bitcoin blockchain, which typically takes anywhere from 10 minutes to an hour depending on network congestion.

Choosing the Right Network

When withdrawing bitcoin, the app may present network options. The safe default is to always select the BTC (Bitcoin) network. Crypto.com usually auto-detects the correct network based on the destination address, but you should verify this before confirming. Sending bitcoin over the wrong network can result in permanently lost funds, and there’s no way to reverse a blockchain transaction.

Whitelisting a Wallet Address

Before you can send bitcoin to an external address, you need to add it to your whitelist, which is essentially an approved list of destination wallets. This is a security measure that prevents unauthorized withdrawals if someone gains access to your account.

When you add a new address, Crypto.com recommends enabling the 24-hour withdrawal lock. With this feature turned on, you won’t be able to send funds to a newly whitelisted address for 24 hours after adding it. That delay gives you time to catch any unauthorized changes. If you disable this lock, the change itself also takes 24 hours to go into effect, and you may lose eligibility for Crypto.com’s Account Protection Programme.

The 24-hour wait can feel frustrating if you need to move bitcoin quickly, so it’s worth whitelisting addresses ahead of time. If you regularly send to the same wallet, you only need to whitelist it once.

Fees and Minimums for External Transfers

External bitcoin withdrawals carry a network fee that covers the cost of processing the transaction on the Bitcoin blockchain. This is not a Crypto.com fee per se. It fluctuates based on how congested the network is at the time you send. The app displays the exact fee before you confirm, so you’ll always know the cost upfront.

Minimum withdrawal amounts also vary and are shown directly in the withdrawal interface. Both the fee and the minimum can change over time as network conditions shift, so check the numbers displayed in the app rather than relying on previously quoted figures.

Sending Bitcoin to Another Crypto.com User

If the person you’re sending to also uses the Crypto.com app, you can skip the blockchain entirely and use the built-in Send feature. This method is free, with no network fees, and the transfer arrives almost immediately.

To use it:

  • Tap Send from the app’s home screen.
  • Select your recipient from your contacts or enter their details.
  • Choose BTC as the currency.
  • Enter the amount.
  • Review and confirm.

Both your account and the recipient’s account must be fully verified, meaning all required identity documents have been submitted and approved. The daily limit for crypto transfers through Send is $50,000, or $100,000 if you have a Prime account.

You can even send bitcoin to someone who hasn’t signed up for Crypto.com yet. The app lets you invite them, and the transfer stays pending for up to seven days while they create and verify their account. If they don’t claim it within that window, the funds are returned to you automatically.

Before You Hit Confirm

Triple-check the wallet address on every external transfer. Bitcoin transactions are irreversible, and sending to the wrong address means losing those funds permanently. Copy and paste addresses rather than typing them manually, and compare the first and last several characters of the pasted address against the original.

If you’re sending a large amount for the first time, consider doing a small test transaction first. The extra network fee is worth the peace of mind. Once the test arrives successfully, send the rest using the same whitelisted address.
