How to Write a Public Health Consultant Resume

Here’s how to write a resume of your own.

Write Compelling Bullet Points

When you’re writing bullet points, it can be tempting to focus on the tasks and responsibilities of your job. But that’s not enough to make a compelling and memorable resume.

Instead, you should focus on the results of your work. For example, rather than saying you “conducted research on public health issues,” you could say you “conducted research on public health issues and developed new methods for disease prevention.”

The second bullet point is more specific and provides more detail about what exactly you did and the results of your work.

Identify and Include Relevant Keywords

When you submit your resume for a public health consultant role, it’s likely that it will be scanned by an applicant tracking system (ATS) for certain keywords. The ATS will search for keywords related to the job, like “public health” or “epidemiology,” in order to determine whether your skills and experience match the job description. If you don’t have enough relevant keywords on your resume, the ATS might discard your application.
