1. How do you make sure that a project is completed on time?

Example: “I use several different tools to organize my time. I find it helpful to create a calendar with all of my daily tasks and appointments. This way, I can see everything I need to do each day and block out times for meetings or breaks. I also use a task management system where I can assign due dates to each task. This helps me stay on top of what needs to be done and when.”

2. What are the most important qualities of a good leader?

This question can help the interviewer determine your leadership skills and how you would apply them to a role at SAIC. When answering this question, it can be helpful to mention qualities that are important to you as well as those that may be beneficial in an organization like SAIC.

Example: “I believe that a good leader should have strong communication skills, empathy and integrity. 3. Describe your experience working with systems engineering.

Systems engineering is a key component of the SAIC job. The interviewer may ask this question to learn more about your experience with systems engineering and how you apply it in your work. Use your answer to highlight your knowledge of systems engineering concepts, as well as your ability to use them in your daily work.

4. How would you go about designing a software system for an organization?

This question is a great way to assess your problem-solving skills and ability to work with clients. Your answer should include the steps you would take when designing software for an organization, including how you would communicate with clients throughout the process.

Example: “I start by meeting with the client to understand their needs and goals. I then research similar systems that are already in place within the industry. After this, I create a plan of action based on my findings and discuss it with the client. Once we agree upon a plan, I begin developing the system using coding languages and other tools. Throughout the entire process, I make sure to communicate regularly with the client so they know what’s going on.”

5. Have you ever had to deal with difficult clients or coworkers, how did you handle it?

This question can help the interviewer determine how you handle conflict and whether you have any experience working with difficult people. Use examples from your past to show that you’re able to work well with others, even when there are disagreements or misunderstandings.

6. SAIC focuses on projects in the federal space. Do you have any experience working with government agencies?

7. Tell me about a time when you had to work on a tight deadline.

When answering this question, be honest about your availability. If you need a few weeks to transition out of your current position or find childcare, let them know.

Example: “Yes, I am ready to start immediately. My last day at my current job is next Friday, and I have already lined up child care for my children.”

9. Give us some examples of your technical skills.

This question is a great way to show the interviewer your technical skills and how you apply them in your work. You can list out some of your most relevant technical skills, including computer programs, software applications or hardware tools that you use at work.

Example: “I have extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, which I’ve used for all my projects at my current company. In addition to this, I also know how to use Adobe Creative Cloud, which I learned during my internship last summer. These two programs are essential for my job as an IT specialist.”

10. Why do you want to work at SAIC?

This question is a great way for the interviewer to learn more about your interest in their company. It also allows you to show them that you did some research on SAIC and what makes it unique. 11. What was the last major IT project you worked on and what were your responsibilities?

13. Can you describe times where you ran into a challenge when creating a new program?

14. Are you able to travel internationally if needed?

This question is a way for the interviewer to assess your willingness to travel. If you are applying for an international position, it’s likely that you will need to travel internationally at some point in your career with SAIC. When answering this question, be honest about your feelings toward traveling and how often you’ve done so in the past.

Example: “I have traveled internationally before, but I prefer domestic travel. However, if my job required me to do so, I would be willing to make the necessary arrangements to ensure I can get to where I need to go. 15. What’s your preferred method of communication with team members: email, phone, text, etc.?

Your answer should show them your appreciation for different cultures, races and backgrounds. You can also mention any specific skills or experiences that make you unique.

Example: “I think it’s important to have a diverse team because it allows us to see things from multiple perspectives. I am an African-American woman who has worked in this industry for over 10 years. My experience as a minority in technology gives me a unique perspective on what we can do better. 17. When was the last time you took on a leadership role in a project or job?

In the end, we finished the project ahead of schedule and within budget.”

18. How many years of IT experience do you have?

This question can help the interviewer determine your level of experience and how it relates to the position you’re applying for. If you have a lot of IT experience, you may be able to answer questions more thoroughly than someone with less experience. When answering this question, try to focus on what skills you’ve developed over time that will benefit SAIC.

Example: “I’ve been working in IT for five years now, but I feel like I’m just getting started. My first two years were spent learning about different software programs and networking protocols. After that, I began implementing new systems and troubleshooting problems. Now, I am comfortable managing projects from start to finish.”

19. Explain your understanding of network security.

This question is a great way to test your knowledge of network security and how you apply it. When answering this question, be sure to include specific examples from your experience that show your expertise in the field.

Example: “Network security is an important part of my job because I am responsible for protecting company data from outside threats. In my last position, I was tasked with creating a new firewall system for our servers. After researching different types of firewalls, I decided on implementing a stateful inspection firewall. This type of firewall allows me to monitor incoming and outgoing traffic while also allowing authorized users access to the server.”

20. Which operating systems are you experienced in?

The interviewer may ask this question to see if you have experience with the operating systems used by SAIC. If you are not experienced in all of them, it is important to explain which ones you are and why you would be a good fit for the company even though you do not have experience in all of them.

Example: “I am most experienced in Windows 7 and 10, but I also have some experience with Linux and Mac OS X. While working at my previous job, we had an issue with our computers where they were running slowly. After troubleshooting, we found that many of the computers needed new hard drives because they were full. We replaced the hard drives on all of the computers and then installed Linux as the operating system. This saved us money because we did not need to purchase new computers.”
